"i uhm," she said, brow furrowing slightly as she played with her coffee cup. how exactly did she go about responding to that? "wow, i'm flattered, icarus, really." and she was. it was just...well it was an awkward situation. she could either say yes and have noah hate her for the night and risk putting herself in a situation that could be date-like with her ex-boyfriend. or she could say no and possibly shut down all further advances and keep them from ever advancing as a pair, which might be best for her if she were being completely honest. it was a matter of head versus heart, logic versus feeling. logically, she should say no. that's what most people would do in this situation, right? say that they broke up for a season and move on. but somehow...she couldn't. not when he was smiling that cute, adorable smile of his, the kind that made his nose crinkle, the kind that turned her heart into jelly and made her weak in the knees. "is this like a formal event or...?" she continued with a hint of a smile. "i mean i don't want to be overdressed or anything. when we go." then she gave him a real, full smile and drank more of her coffee to hide it, as if they were just making casual plans. yeah. no big deal. i just want them married can they be married now |
