Despite how shitty he'd been feeling lately and the fact that his back really was just giving him absolute hell, he couldn't help but to smile warmly at the goofy grin on Jasey's face when there was mention of this Alec guy. He couldn't be happier for Jasey because if there was anything the guy deserved then it was to be this happy about something. All he wanted to do was to cuddle Jasey for a while and be happy for him, but of course the cuddle wasn't an option because sitting up even enough to just eat was hurting. The pizza was disappearing quickly though and he reached for a second slice the moment the first had vanished, not even bothering to take a break for a drink. As soon as Jasey spoke though it was clear that he hadn't bought his attempt at making it seem like he was doing well. They'd talk later, well yeah of course they would, because it wasn't like the guy to forget asking when he knew Scott wasn't feeling great.
For the time being though, he was glad that the guy decided it was alright to start with talking about his boyfriend and talk about Scott's issues later. Smiling he took the phone from Jasey even if the movement, tiny as it was, hurt. Thoughtfully he looked at the picture and then a grin spread on his face, despite not really having talked too much about his own sexuality he laughed and nodded. "I'd say you've caught yourself a hot one mister Wilson" he said in a goofy yet somehow serious voice. He wanted nothing more than to make Jasey know how happy he was for him and how glad he was that he'd found someone. However one of his eyebrows shot up as the guy said that if he met him he'd like him. "What do you mean IF I met him? You better let me meet him at some point Jason, or I will have to track this boy down myself and make sure I meet him because you know I will have to double check that he'll be good enough for you" he pointed out, though there was a tone in his voice that said he already approved.
Once he handed the phone back, he closed his eyes and shifted his weight around a little to get more comfortable, not that it helped any, but he had to try somehow. A frown crossed his face as he did this, until he settled down again and forced himself to wipe the frown from his face, once more smiling softly at Jasey and listening to him talking about Alec. "Sounds like he's just the kind of guy you need huh? I mean laid back is definitely a must, so is being sweet and let's face it, a guy's got to have a sense of humor to be of any interest at all" he stated, trying to get into the mode of being co-gushing best friend. It wasn't too difficult because it was impossible not to smile at the look on Jasey's face, he just looked so happy there was nothing other than smiling to be done. "Yeah, that's pretty awesome, I mean most people wouldn't count ice cream as a date?" he said.
Not that he knew too much about what most people would consider a date, hell he hadn't even been on that many dates himself throughout his life, but it seemed from what he'd gathered that ice cream was usually not considered a first date. Usually a first date required some kind of food, preferable dinner, and maybe a movie or something? Not that he thought it mattered what you were doing on a first date as long as both parties were enjoying themselves and both were interested in the other person. "I think ice cream would make an excellent first date!" he said honestly, and chuckled a little, which had a flash of pain following it because the shaking that laughing cause was sending jolts of pretty intense pain through his back and generally his entire lower body. "I really can't say how happy that makes me Jasey" he said softly. "If anyone in this world deserves being this happy about something it's you." he added, and he truly did mean that.
His best friend was one of those people that if they hadn't existed the world would be a much worse place without them. Scott couldn't even imagine the world without the guy and how dull and gray it would be. No the world needed people like Jason Wilson to keep spinning, of that he was sure, there was no one kinder, more loving, more innocent in a way than Jasey, even though he knew that Jasey having a boyfriend obviously more than likely meant he wasn't quite as innocent as he once had been, but that didn't make a difference because no matter how you looked at it there was always going to be something innocent about his friend, something pure and decent. "I'm glad he makes you happy Jasey, and if he ever doesn't he'll have to deal with me and all my mental wrath, because we both know my physical won't help either of us much." he added with another small laugh followed by another frown.
