Colton Austin Wilder was born into a family of hard-workers. His father, Clay, was a rancher and his mother was co-owner. The ranch is where Colton spent most of his life. He was born there, was home schooled there, and got his first job there. His little sister was born there too, and the family never really left town. Until his parents got a divorce.
Colton then, at the age of seventeen, moved to Providence, RI, with his mom and little sister, to where his mother's family lived. It was a weird move just because of the fact Colt was used to being on the ranch. When Colton entered his new high school, he was obviously different from every other kid there. He had a southern accent, and was built more from working harder than everyone that now surrounded him.
Colton eventually began to blend in at his new school. He was still the new guy, of course; always would be by coming in his senior year, but he was able to join a couple of sports teams and kind of blend in. Unlike this girl he noticed, Regan, who had been there longer than he had. She had beautiful gorgeous blonde locks, and breathtaking eyes...but he never got up the courage to ask her out. Until they got out of high school.
A couple years later he married that same girl, and she was the absolute love of his life. So innocent, so pure. Just like the girls back home. Now, though, it was like she was going rogue. Fiery red hair, and..running away from him. Now it was his job to go find her, and bring her back home.

PERSONALITY: Colton is very old-fashioned type of person, therefore he is automatically a gentleman. He's the type of guy to hold open a door for a girl, always escort her to the door, and pull out her chair for her. Speaking like he is from another century, being from the south, seems to give him even more of a polite factor. Colton is the overly protective type, with it being both instinct and just hating the fact of watching someone he loves get hurt. Especially when he knows for a fact that he would have been, or is still, able to do something about it.
Colt at many times can come off as sort of arrogant, knowing it at the same time, but doesn't act like he notices as long as he gets his point across. He doesn't seem to confide in many people, mainly because he knows that no one will be able to understand him as a person and, mainly, his motives. Being a very reserved kind of person he keeps to himself half of the time, tending to come off as a 'loner'. Which he would never admit to being. He is a pessimist, always has been, and expects the worse out of all situations no matter how well it starts off. No worries, Colton has his fairly lovable sides to him too.
That being said I'd like to say first that he his a hopeless romantic; like fresh off of a soap opera. Once he falls for you, he sees it as forever. He believes in being the girl's knight in shining armor, even though he knows that he is not perfect in any way and still considers himself unworthy of anyone's attention. Another very likable side about him is that he is usually a very calm and serene kind of guy. When he does get angry though, he doesn't claim to be afraid to show it. When Colt gets angry he tends to loose all self control.
