[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: #EEEEEE, border: #59b1ba 5px solid; width: 400px; height: 500px;] hey there. the name's Joanna Leigh McAlister! i go by Jo too if you were wondering. also i'll have you know that i am eighteen & loving it. oh. you've heard that I'm straight? & that I'm from tulsa, oklahoma? well the rumors are true for once. well I gotta get going, english lit classes are calling. see ya'! bee tee dubs, i'm a student. history, Joanna is a writer. Anyone who knows her knows first and foremost that writing is the fire that burns in her soul and the one thing that makes her happiest. Though, that really shouldn’t be much of a surprise. Her father is a poet from California and her mother is a lyricist who spends most of her time selling country songs to record labels. From the day she was born, Jo was showered with love and affection from both parents. They were newlyweds and new parents who couldn’t have bee happier to bring a baby into the world. Sadly, the joy didn’t last as long as would have been liked. After the honeymoon romance was over, the reality settled in and both parents realized that raising a child and living in a house in Oklahoma wasn’t easy. And with her father being the only one to work, things were especially tight for the young couple. By the time she was seven, Jo had already known four different houses. At first, things were alright. Though there was always tension between the couple, Jo never questioned it and she assumed that things would get better when her mother found a job. Unfortunately, she was wrong. When Jo turned ten her mother did find a job and money became something that wasn’t so much of an issue. However, it also meant that she and her husband wouldn’t have as much time together as they once had and that alone strained the relationship an unimaginable amount. Yes, it seems odd but you have to understand that Jo’s parents were very passionate and loving and any time they spent apart was difficult. So when Jo’s mother got a job, Jo rejoiced until her father started drinking. But it was funny, Jo thought, that something that should have made him so happy made him so angry and sad. As the years went on Jo adjusted to new friends and three more new homes over the state of Oklahoma, all of which kept her mind off the impending turmoil that was bubbling up ever so slowly at home. She discovered her love for writing and that seemed to bring her parents some pleasure but all in all things for the couple were in ruins. Her mother was working later and later as she put out more and more songs and her father was sinking deeper and deeper into alcoholism. It wasn’t until she turned sixteen that things got too hard to handle. Jo had grown to be tough enough to take care of herself when parents were unavailable and all was well until the night her mother came home just a bit too late for her fathers liking. That was the night Jo found her voice and stood up for exactly what she knew was right. Her mother came home when Jo was fast asleep. Her father, was not. At first it was the yelling that woke her up but when she went to see what was wrong, she heard a slap and a yelp and then saw her mother fall to the ground. Jo was angry and ready to let loose on him. And she did. She yelled and raised her hands all while her mother sat dumbfounded on the floor. It didn’t end well. Jo received her own slap across the face but it just made her angrier. Luckily, her mother recovered some sense and pulled Jo away. They hurriedly packed their things and spent the night in a hotel. It wasn’t long before her mother was able to get a job transfer to Connecticut and Jo and her mother flew out, leaving her father behind. Since then, there has been no contact between Jo and her father but her mom has talked to him a few times. personality, Spunky, Sarcastic, Outgoing, Feisty, Stubborn, Funny, Independent. This is Jo in a nutshell. She is full of life and usually very social. She has a quirky personality and it almost always in some sort of trouble. She is quick-witted and always has a sarcastic comeback for the appropriate –sometimes-inappropriate—situation. When it comes to friends, Jo is very social and humorous. She likes to make people laugh and smile so she will try to do just that in friendly company. As far as Jo’s personality in general, she is very stubborn. If she doesn’t want to do something, then you’ll have to try your damndest if you want to change her mind. She is feisty and will fight you on something if she believes in it enough. Most of the time she’s gotten into trouble because of that and when receiving her punishment, Jo has pulled out the feistiness once more only to land herself in a deeper hole. But cest la vie. Joe is independent and doesn’t like to be tied down to things. Because of this she doesn’t do well in relationships. Though that also is due in part to her hatred at being thought of as weak and frail and needing to be taken care of. Jo will never hesitate to tell you that she can take care of herself. She is confident and a little mouthy when fired up but all in all she is easy to be around and not typical for a girl. She’s not a shy little girl but she’s not a party whore. She’s simple Joanna McAlister. appearance, Jo is your typical ginger. She’s tall, awkward and skinny as a twig with a bright mop of hair on top of her head. However, she’s not at all insecure about her looks. When it comes to style, Jo likes to keep it random. She typically goes around in anything she finds lying around at her house but if her style had to be described, it would be called old woman meets the modern hipster. Yes, we all know how those hipsters dress. Giant glasses. Suspenders. Tights and ugly sweaters. Jo has it down. But a bit worse. She’s a cheap sun of a gun and she’s not willing to waste her money on all of that so instead, what does she do? Jo McAlister, meet grammy’s closet. As little as Jo is, you would think it would be hard for her to find anything she fits into but ironically, her grandmother who lives not so far away has a similar body style to her granddaughter. Long, bony and slightly awkward. So of course, with an opportunity on her hands like that Jo has to be resourceful. So yes, I’m saying it and if you asked Jo she’d be proud to declare that most of her clothes are ones that once belonged to her grandmother. But hey, let’s not stop there. Jo is fashionable when she wants to be and she does have a tendency to dress like a normal girl. And when she does, she does it with tights and flowy, floral things. But of course, Jo’s style is really very unpredictable. She wears a number of different things on a whim. The only thing that can be predicted of her outfits it that it will probably sport some tights and maybe a hat. Other than that, her style changes from day to day. the roleplayer, Welll, my name is summer and I’m 17 –almost 18—and a senior in high school. I’ve been roleplaying for a while now and got my start a long long time ago on neopets. I know, it’s a bit silly but whatever. It was fun while it lasted. I’m sort of a child inside. I tend to think more about what’s happening today than what will happen tomorrow but I do have plans for college and I can’t wait to get there. I’m a hopeless romantic and I don’t care what it is, I tend to want every romantic cliché possible by living vicariously through my characters. I do have an outside of internet social life though. I have a boyfriend and a best friend and I usually spend my weekends with them so if I go missing for a day or so, it’s because of that. But hey, I always check in when I can because I have a habit of checking stuff out via my phone. So yeah (: I’m excited and hope the app is good enough for you guys. |
