[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: #EEEEEE, border: #59b1ba 5px solid; width: 400px; height: 500px;] hey there. the name's Janie Rae Westmoreland! i go by Janie or Jane if you were wondering. also i'll have you know that i am twenty & loving it. oh. you've heard that I'm heterosexual? & that I'm from boston? well the rumors are true for once. well I gotta get going, photography and hospitality classes is calling. see ya'! bee tee dubs, i'm a student. history, Janie was adopted. She doesn't know this, but she was. She was raised by her adoptive mother, who was...how shall we say it...overprotective of her? Yeah, that's good. Overprotective. More like smothering, actually. Growing up, Janie's mother didn't let her outside much. Or at all, really. And when she was outside, her mother was constantly watching her, making sure she didn't do anything 'dangerous' (read: fun). So, Janie basically spent her whole life inside. You might be asking 'what about school?' Well, she was home schooled. Oh, yes. Miss Westmoreland thought of everything to keep her 'precious angel' safe from the big, bad world. What she didn't understand is that Janie wanted to be outside, playing with the other kids. She wanted to run and play, to feel the grass under her feet. She wanted to be a kid. But her mother wouldn't let her. You see, Miss Westmoreland couldn't have children on her own. That's why she was so protective of Janie. Jane didn't understand this, and still doesn't. Needless to say, this was a bone of contention in the family. As was Janie's habit of sneaking out when her mother was at work and playing with the little boy who lived next door. He was her best friend, as well as her only one. Janie would wait until her babysitter was asleep and then climb out through the window. When Miss Westmoreland found out about this, she was livid. She prohibited Janie from ever leaving the house again, unless she was with either her mother or her babysitter. Janie grudgingly agreed but continued to secretly sneak out and play with her friend, As time went on and Janie grew older, she began to get more and more restless in the house. She started sneaking out more, despite her mothers warnings and threats. After she grew too old to have a babysitter, she started taking walks in the afternoons, while her mother was away. She still hung out with her friend, but they talked more than they played. He was the one who encouraged her to convince her mother to send her to camp when she was fourteen. It took a lot of begging and pleading and, though she'd never admit it, lying, but Janie finally convinced her mother to send her to camp. Her first summer, she was practically vibrating with excitement when her mother dropped her off. She was free! No suffocated mother, no stuffy house! She was free! With all the excitement Janie was itching for more when she returned. Seeing that, her mother panicked and made sure that Janie would never leave her again. From then until she was eighteen, her mother made sure of that. Miss Westmoreland started working from home, seeing that she could keep an easier eye on her daughter that way. Janie’s secret meetings with her friend started to become less and less frequent and before she knew it, she was back under her mother’s tight hold. It wasn’t until she was eighteen that she started to get a bit more rebellious. Janie was never a dumb girl. She knew that she was an adult when she turned eighteen and that in itself gave her a whole new need for freedom. She hinted at wanting to move out and at wanting to go to school but her mother was stern with her, telling her that the best living and schooling she would ever get were right at home with her. But Janie was persistent and by the end of what would have been her senior year in high school, Janie was settled to move out and make her way into the big bad world that her mother had always hated. And though she’s felt guilty about leaving her mother every second she’s been gone and even in the moments she’s returned home for holidays, Janie has been loving every minute of it just as much. personality, Janie is a dreamer. She always has her head in the cloud and if you watch her (which she would prefer you wouldn’t) she’s most likely day dreaming about something. Often times, thoughts cross Janie’s mind and she begins to get lost in them. She wonders what life will be like when she finishes school and if her mother will even show up to her graduation seeing as she’s such a strong anti-supporter of her furthered education. But mostly, Janie dreams of is she’ll get to travel the world. After all the things she’s read in books, she’s convinced herself that everything her mother has told her can’t possibly be true and she dreams of seeing the world for herself. Janie can be very sarcastic. She has a dry wit, and she's very smart (hours of doing nothing but reading can do that to you). When she says sarcastic thing, however, most of the time it's to cover something up. Disappointment, hurt, truth, affection. Something along those lines. The person who has been at the receiving end of her sarcasm more than anyone else is her mother. She has serious mommy-issues. But Janie is a trustworthy person. She keeps her word and is able to keep a secret. She's the friend you go to when you just need someone to listen and let you cry on their shoulder. Or she's the one you go to if you need help with something. She takes promises very seriously. If she swears that she won't or will do something, she keeps that promise. There have been some exceptions to this rule, of course, but those were extreme cases. Janie is a spaz. And paranoid. The combination of the two is really not a good thing. She has been known to jump about a foot in the air when someone sneaks up behind her. She supposes that the paranoia and spazziness comes from her mother's stories about the terrible things that happen in the outside world. Of course, he mother forgot to mention things like flowers, and birds, and little fluffy things, and other things that Janie ended up loving. That is partially why Janie is curious about everyone and everything. She's amazed by the simplest things. Starlight, the feeling of grass, butterflies, flowers. She loves people watching and meeting new people. This is another side effect of being inside so much. Because she didn't spend a lot of time exploring and learning about her world when she was little, she's making up for lost time now. She loves being outside. She loves nature and animals and flowers. She really, really loves flowers. Janie is a romantic. Boy is she ever! Though she’s has her aspirations in baking and photography and world travel, she also cannot wait to settle down and find her prince charming. No, Janie’s never actually been in love. Actually, she’s never had any type of romantic relationship ever. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t add the thought of love to the things she spends day and night dreaming about. Janie simply loves the thought of love and can’t wait for it to happen for her because she knows that it simply must be perfect. Janie has a rebellious side to her. When she really wants something, she goes after it. Even if it means breaking one of her mother's rules. Of course, she feels incredibly guilty about it later. I mean, she may spend a good part of her time resenting her mother, but Janie really does love her. Somewhere. Deep down. Janie has a temper. She has some control over it , but not a whole lot. She also has a habit of hitting people when they make her angry. She's not violent exactly she's just...okay, she's kind of violent. But only when she's really, really angry. She is very emotional in general, and she wears her heart on her sleeve. She can't hide her emotions, try as she might. The only one who doesn't pay attention enough to notice is her mother. Who, coincidentally, is the one who hurts her more often than anyone else. Jane is also very creative. Again, being cooped up all day gives you plenty of time to practice artistic things. She loves painting, singing, and playing guitar. Don't ask her to build anything out of clay for you though. She has issues with clay. The ones where she's can't make anything with it. No, Janie will not be becoming a potter anytime soon. appearance, The first thing that most people notice about Janie are her eyes. They're bright blue, and a rather large feature on her face. If you are trying to figure out how she's feelings, just look in her eyes. Her hair is the second thing they tend to notice. It's a white blonde, and it falls in pretty little curls down to mid back. She takes good care of it. Actually, if there is one feature that she obsesses over, it's her hair. Anyway, she normally wears it down or in a ponytail or braid. She's pretty pale, since her mother doesn't let her out much. Because of this, she also doesn't have a whole lot of muscle. Janie prefers to wear girly clothes. Dresses, skirts and flowery, frilly things light up her wardrobe and that’s just the way she likes it. Usually with a hat too. Hats make Janie happy. To put it simply though, Janie is a simple girl with a simple beauty. She is honestly very beautiful and it’s hard to deny that but Janie tends to be a bit of a wallflower and therfor, she tends to go unnoticed amongst all the other pretty girls that she goes to school with and lives in town with. the roleplayer, check out Joanna McAlister’s app for all that (: |
