They owned a rather large mansion here in new haven. But being back here just brought back some hard memories for her. She was officially back in the same place that she had grown up in, meaning that all of the memories here had something to do with Titan. Their most recent conversations made her realize that there wasn't much of a chance at repairing the problems that they had; which was part of the reason she had been so eager to come back home while she was on vacation. Titan and Annalys, Annalys and Titan.. The phrasing of their names together was all she knew through her entire middle to high school life. They were always doing something together and that was how she liked it. It was normal for them, natural even. But she had to get used to the fact that things would never be the easy natural way that they were. If she wanted to fix things she would have to work hard at it. Not that Titan was making it easy for her. She blamed him for not trying to keep the relationship and just giving up on them cause she was leaving and he probably blamed her for leaving. But what was she supposed to do? give up on her modeling offer and leave her dreams behind for him? Seemed like kind of a selfish thing for him to want. If he had gotten offered a major DJ-ing job somewhere far away she would do everything possible to make things work. Yet with their breakup, neither of them tried very hard to keep them together. That was probably the part that hurt the most, the fact that he didn't fight for her and the fact that she didn't fight for him. They both gave up.
Annalys walked down the grand staircase, the sound of her heels echoed through the large house making her realize just how alone she was. 'I really shouldn't be left alone to my thoughts right now... |
' she thought to herself, knowing that most of her thoughts now a days were about Titan and the fact that she let him go to further her career. The more she thought about it the more she realized that she had made a big mistake giving him up. She never really moved on from him. Yeah she had a couple of boyfriends here and there during the five years they were apart. But none of them measured up to the six years that she had known Titan. He was her first, of many things. There was the old cliche' of 'you never forget your first love' and all that, and in Annalys's case it was true. She never spent a moment without thinking of him. Every time she walked the runway she thought about him, wondering if he would sit and watch it on T.V. When she shot a commercial she would think about his reaction. She always wondered if he missed her or if he thought about her at all. She had written him many letters telling him that she still loved him more than anything and that she would never forget about him. And the fact that she never got a response just made her hurt even more. She feared he had forgotten about her and that was why he never tried to contact her or write her back. It tore her apart, she would check the mailbox every morning to see if she had a letter from him. When she would get a text her heart longed to see his name on it. It never happened, yet she never gave up. And when she had the chance to leave Paris and come home for a year she took it. Hoping to settle things with Titan and get some answers as to why he never tried to contact her, find out why he let her go so easily. That was when she had come across him on the alumni chat a week after arriving home. The conversation definitely wasn't the easiest for her to have with him. He had a lot of anger and spite towards her and it hurt more than she could ever imagine. All she wanted to do was talk to him like grown adults but no, that would never be possible with him. Fighting was easier for him. ' I lost your number' was his excuse for not contacting her, that and he didn't want to apparently. That was what hurt her most, he didn't want to. Which made her realize he really had moved on from her. Was there no way to get him back? or even get him to be civil with her? Probably not. Annalys went to the living room and leaned against the door frame, the house that she remembered when she was little and the one that stood before her now was completely different. But then again five years can change a lot. Her parents were very in to new designs and all that, which could explain her need to stay in tune with the latest fashions and her passion for modeling. They changed the house designs and decorations every few months in attempt to keep it all up to date. She missed the way it was when they first moved here, everything was very simple in many aspects of her life. She didn't have to worry about her ex who still held her heart in his hands being spiteful, or her parents acting like they were on their honeymoon every other week. With her father being a professor at Yale it gave them a lot of money. Which he in turn spent on a lot of fancy vacations with her mom. Currently he had decided that they wanted to run off to Bora Bora for the week. Leaving her in the house completely to herself. It made her want to throw a party just because she easily could. Her publicist would have a heart attack but that didn't matter to Annalys very much. Matter of fact Annalys was always trying to get her publicist to get out and see how much fun it was to party. Walking back across the grand entrance she headed into the kitchen, grabbing a bottle of water out of the fridge before she tried to come up with something that she could do to get her mind off of the one person it had been stuck on for the past eleven years, Titan.. SHE TIED YOU TO HER KITCHEN CHAIR, SHE BROKE YOUR THRONE AND SHE CUT YOUR HAIR, AND FRO YOUR LIPS SHE DREW THE HALLELUJAH. BABY I'VE BEEN HERE BEFORE. I'VE SEEN THIS ROOM AND I'VE WALKED THIS FLOOR. I USED TO LIVE ALONE BEFORE I KNEW YOU AND I'VE SEEN YOUR FLAG ON THE MARBLE ARCH AND LOVE IS NOT A VICTORY MARCH, IT'S A COLD AND BROKEN HALLELUJAH. "352 Saint Ronan St New Haven, CT 06511. make it fast." it came out as not several, separate words, but instead as one long one. however, one long word was better than nothing at all. one would be surprised that a person in his state of mind could remember such a long address. however, this particular address wasn't any old address. it was one that was burned into his memory, something that was impossible to forget, because he'd written it down so many times before, as well as repeated it aloud. he'd visited the estate almost every day throughout his high school career, even temporarily losing the information wasn't possible. "this is very 'portant, sir, can you drive a lil' faster?" one would also be wondering why titan koufidakis was catching a cab in new york city all the way to a neighborhood in new haven, connecticut. not only was his destination rather odd, but why he had chosen to get so drunk on a weekday was strange as well. however, there was an easy answer for both of these suspicions and they started with annalys and ended with kouma. someone without any knowledge of the history between the two would be awful confused if this information was expressed to them. in fact, they might even believe that titan was just a hardcore pervert, who stalked victoria's secret angels for a hobby. that definitely wasn't it though. the fact of the matter was that famous model annalys and gradually-receiving-fame dj titan were ex-sweethearts. being broken up, however, didn't necessarily mean feelings when away, especially with as much history as the two of them shared.
this brings us back to the beginning, when titan discovered that annalys was back in town through the alumni chat. it was a very sour, bitter meeting, and even though the two had been fighting the whole two hours, he couldn't help but feel giddy about talking to her again. it'd been so long since he'd seen her anywhere but a victoria's secret commercial or special on television, and even then, he'd usually change the channel as soon as her face appeared on his screen. it felt normal again, even though there encounter was the farthest from normal. they never fought a day during their relationship, never had a disagreement and if they did, they compromised. it's what made the breakup so hard and also what made the past two particular evenings so hard to handle. fighting with annalys wasn't right. being told that he was hated by her wasn't right.
true, it might have been the rush of emotions that possessed her to say such a thing, but never in his life would titan dare say that he hated annalys or even so much as disliked her. maybe he was still holding a grudge caused by the decisions she'd made five years ago, but he didn't hate her. hell, he was still head over heels in love with her. after five years of trying to get over her, he was even more infatuated with her than before. the boy was crazy for her and anyone would be able to see that- anyone but annalys.
when he most recently left the chatroom, he'd taken it upon his shoulders to go out and get drunk. a little alcohol never hurt anyone. that's all he had, too- a little. at least, that's the approximate amount that he had intended to intake. he'd planned to quit after a couple beers, maybe a shot or two, then retreat to his hotel room and maybe bring a girl or two back with him. after all, it's what he did. when he was dumped by annalys, he'd built walls around himself. no, he hadn't become some sort of weird loner, but he'd became the total opposite. he had adopted new friends, new habits, and a new lifestyle. he'd become party boy, man whore, asshole titan and he was no longer the quiet pushover that he had once been.
the drive from new york to new haven wasn't too lengthy, but it was still quite long. the alcohol which he had been able to convince the cab driver to allow him to bring with him made the drive less dull though. if anyone else was in the position he was in- about to make face to face contact with an ex-girlfriend, one that he was still crazy in love with- would probably be planning what they'd be saying, word from word. maybe that's what titan would have been doing if he wasn't so incoherent, but at the time, he wasn't thinking about anything but marching straight up to that house and giving annalys a piece of his mind. that might include harsh words, insults, telling her what a horrible, inconsiderate person she was, or something of the total opposite- the complete truth of the matter was that titan had no idea what he was doing.
the alcohol had not only made the ride much less boring than with no alcohol and a sober-titan, but it made the hour and a half drive seem a lot shorter. he'd even passed out a couple times, but had been awoken each time by the loud-talking taxi driver that was apparently trying to spark up a conversation with him. when they'd pulled into the familiar neighborhood, titan felt his guts tighten up, like they were just as nervous as he was. right, titan, nervous? not possible, especially considering how confident he was when he made the last minute decision to pay annalys a visit. when the driver pulled into the driveway, titan could definitely feel the butterflies- just as drunk as he was- in his stomach.
he threw a couple of twenties on the front seat which the driver gladly accepted before he stumbled out of the car. the man quickly sped away, before titan realized how ripped off he'd just been. it took a few moments for the tall, six foot something boy to find his feet and his balance, but he did, and when he did, he stumbled towards the front of the house. he pounded his fist on the double doors a couple times, pressed the doorbell just as many, stook a few steps back, and rested his head on one of the ivory pillars supporting the house. No, she couldn't let herself forget the one person in the world that made her want to stay here; the one person that she had to spend every moment possible with when she was younger. She loved him then and she loved him now. The only reason why she could never tell him that was because she was the one who had ended their four year relationship. But it just seemed like the right thing to do. How could she ask him to drop everything and go with her to Paris and all over the world for god knows how long just so that she could follow her dreams, making him give up on his own? It wouldn't have been right, that's why she had to let him go. Sure she had no idea whether or not he would have actually gone away with her, but the thought was slim and she really didn't want to bring it up that night. And with their most recent conversations being full of so much venom it made her heart ache worse than the night that they broke up. They were so in love she didn't understand how things could go so wrong. If they were still in school it would have been the biggest news ever, and people would probably still be talking about it. 'golden couple ends in a disastrous break-up.' Annalys hated thinking about how happy they were back then, it really made her miss the old days. She started thinking about the 'what ifs' about her life; what if she hadn't broken up with him; what if she gave up the modeling offer to stay here in new haven with him; what if he went with her. All of those questions were spinning around her head. If she hadn't gone away and taken the modeling offer she would probably be either happily in love with Titan and still with him, or something else would have come along and caused them to break up. Maybe her ending things saved them from a much worse break up that could have happened later. When she thought of it that way she realized that things could have been a lot worse when it came to their breakup. Although things could have been a lot better as well.
Annalys remembered the day like it was yesterday. She had gone over to his house to tell him about the amazing modeling offer that she had gotten. But when she got there he was already in a pretty off mood and she knew that the conversation wouldn't go very well. But like they always did she figured that they would work things out and find a compromise. She told him about the offer she had gotten and about how she would have to go away for awhile and could tell that he was already hating the idea. That was when things started falling apart. He started to get defensive and mad about the idea of her being gone so long. They fought for quite some time before she finally stood up and took a deep breath. 'then maybe we shouldn't be together anymore..' as soon as she had let those words slip from her lips she knew that she would regret it. '..i can't ask you to wait for me..' she didn't stay at his house for much longer after she ended it. She gave him a kiss on his forehead and walked out of his room, tears streaming down her face as she did. With every step she took away from him she fell apart more and more.
Annalys brought herself away from the memory when she realized that she had begun to cry. Not completely sobbing but tears had begun to fall from her eyes as she stared off into space lost in her memories. She wiped away her tears and left the bottle of water on the counter as she walked to the sliding glass door that overlooked the pool and an amazing view of the city. All of the lights that were still on in town made her curious as to what everyone was doing still awake at one am in the morning. But then again the same thing could be asked about her. She turned from the sliding glass door and headed into the living room, grabbing a book off the bookshelf before walking over to the window seat to read a bit. Her hopes of diving into a book and getting her mind off of Titan was short lived. As soon as she got a few pages in she zoned off into her thoughts again.
'I can't believe i told him i hated him...' she thought to herself. She had never said anything remotely close to that before in their entire relationship, whether they were friends or dating. Not even joking. She wondered how that would effect him in reality. Although, with the way he's changed it was quite possible that it wouldn't effect him at all and he wouldn't even care. Annalys closed the book and looked out the window, looking back at the view of the city lights. She really hoped that Titan wasn't this hard, cruel, asshole of a person that he presented himself to be. She still had hope that the Titan that she knew and loved from so long ago was still somewhere behind his hard outer shell.
The sound of banging on her front door brought her back to reality quickly. She stood up and set the book back on the shelf before walking to the grand entrance, she looked through the peep-hole to see Titan. Her heart stopped, skipping quite a few beats before she calmed her nerves down long enough to process the fact that Titan, her ex and the person that she was very much still in love with; was at her front door. She took a deep breath and opened the door, examining the state that he was in and noticing that he was quite intoxicated. " Titan... uhh... what are you doing here? " She didn't quite know how to react to the fact that he was at her doorstep, let alone intoxicated at her doorstep. But in the back of her mind she took it as a sign. A sign that the old Titan was still there and that he hopefully still cared about her. hopefully..

SHE TIED YOU TO HER KITCHEN CHAIR, SHE BROKE YOUR THRONE AND SHE CUT YOUR HAIR, AND FRO YOUR LIPS SHE DREW THE HALLELUJAH. BABY I'VE BEEN HERE BEFORE. I'VE SEEN THIS ROOM AND I'VE WALKED THIS FLOOR. I USED TO LIVE ALONE BEFORE I KNEW YOU AND I'VE SEEN YOUR FLAG ON THE MARBLE ARCH AND LOVE IS NOT A VICTORY MARCH, IT'S A COLD AND BROKEN HALLELUJAH. maybe this wasn't appropriate- hell, what was he thinking maybe for? of course this wasn't appropriate. it was the farthest thing from appropriate. it was ten levels of inappropriate. if he was in his right mind, he would have never done something like this. no, he wasn't a coward and no, he wasn't afraid to speak his mind, but what he planned on saying to someone he cared so much about, and even worse, annalys, was just wrong. it wasn't what titan would do, but then again, ever since the duo had gone to splitsville, titan hadn't exactly been himself. he'd been cruel, rude, mean, and he was no estranged with not only his brothers, but his parents. it's like the real titan stuck with annalys after they went their separate ways and now the twenty three year old was stuck with some alter-ego and not a good one at that. even though turning around and calling another cab or a friend to come save him from this nightmare wasn't anywhere on his mind right now, if he wanted to, he'd have to be pretty fast with his decision making, because just as titan began to doze off like had been on the taxi ride here, the door made an abrupt move and as it started to crack open and the person on the other side was obviously wary of a very intoxicated man on the other side.
then it opened completely and titan finally was face to face with annalys, after five years of only having contact through a computer screen on some lame pop culture site or because he saw her on a commercial or some victoria's secret fashion show, he was now less than a yard away from her. he was so close, he could smell the perfume she was wearing and if he wanted to, he could touch her- of course he wouldn't, unless he wanted the cops called on him, because even though he was intoxicated, he still knew what would get the police involved and what wouldn't. it was unreal, which shouldn't of been the case. never in a million years would he think that this is where the two would end up. when he was a seventeen year old kid, he thought that by the time they reached this age there would be a ring on her finger and wedding plans in the future. maybe the talk of children and perhaps there would be a shared living space. that definitely wasn't the case. instead, they could barely look at each other, nonetheless talk like decent human beings through a chat room, for heaven's sake. it was definitely not what titan had hoped for thee future. "titan... uhh... what are you doing here?" her sweet, sweet brazilian voice, the one that used to coo him, that would drive him crazy with love, muttering his name with more confusion and shock than disgust, like he would have expected out of her. then again, he was incredibly drunk at the moment, so there was actually no telling from his point of view currently.
the boy didn't know how to answer this question. maybe instead of loading up on alcohol in the cab ride, he should have been thinking about how he was going to approach annalys. then again, if he hadn't been going overboard on the booze, then he wouldn't have made the decision to confront her in the first place. he did realize, though, through his drunken haze, that he didn't want to say what he had originally come here to say- you know, call her a life ruining bitch who only ruins lives, that he wished that he'd never talked to her on her first day of junior high, and that he regretted ever having a relationship with her, the like of what an intoxicated ex-boyfriend would say to a girl that he had a very rough, very rocky break up with.
instead, he wanted to tell her how much he loved her and he much he regretted ever thinking that a long distance relationship wouldn't work. even though being an underwear model came temptations, he trusted annalys. he trusted her with his life nonetheless the safety of their relationship. at the time, though, he didn't know what to think. he didn't know whether he trusted annalys and he didn't think he could handle not having his girlfriend, his safety blanket there with him when he needed her. he didn't want to only be able to contact through a phone or a computer screen, but every time he thought about it, he figured that it would be worth it- as long as he still had annalys and as long as he could call her his. however, it was too late for these realizations. way, way too late. "you know..." he paused, trying to keep himself from passing out before continuing, "what, forget it..." he rested his voice again, flicking his eyes everywhere but her face. "no, no not forget it. i came here..." another break. "to tell you that this is bullshit." finally able to get a complete sentence out of his mouth, his eyes rested on hers. "you broke my heart, literally broke it, and you come back here like some prima donna and have the nerve to tell me you hate me. it doesn't work like that, annalys. you dumped me, you're supposed to leave me alone, let me be, just..." drunkenness really took a lot out of a guy, especially when they were trying their hardest to be coherent. The fact that she had the ability to break down probably the strongest person that she knew, killed her inside. She wished that the situation was one that she could remember from their younger years. Where he would come to her door and just walk in when she opened the door. Where they would defy her parent's and run upstairs to her room and just spend hours talking. Where they were completely and unconditionally in love with each other. Annalys was heartbroken seeing the man she loved standing before her in such a distraught state. She just wanted to take him inside and hold him and tell him everything was going to be okay. But she couldn't, they didn't have that relationship anymore and she was still fighting to get adjusted to it. Her hand went to touch the necklace that she always wore around her neck. She pretty much never took it off unless she had to, which was pretty much only during her photo shoots and when she had to walk the runway. And even then she always tries to keep it on. Only because Titan gave it to her as a graduation present. She thought of it as a symbol of him giving her his heart, so she always wore it close to hers. Yes, she still very much loved him that would absolutely never change. Hell he was her first, took her v-card on their prom night. Yeah it's a cliche' but he still managed to make it the most romantic and memorable night of her life. She wore a long golden gown and he wore his black tux with a gold tie to match her. And with their relationship being pretty much the center of everyone's high school career they had also been voted prom King and Queen. Which was something that Annalys had never thought would have happened.
If there was one night in her life that she could re-live over and over it would be that night. Not just because she was voted prom queen, or that she lost her virginity. It was because she got to spend the entire night with the most important person in the world. And who wouldn't want to do that? Annalys watched as Titan tried to form sentences, it made her want to cry seeing him so intoxicated and upset. Yeah she knew that he drank on a normal basis now a days, that's how he was. Especially with DJ-ing at a night club and everywhere else. She just hoped that he wasn't becoming an alcoholic. Although if she had decided to go and visit him after such a bad breakup and such a terrible conversation online. If she had expected him showing up at her doorstep she would probably be just as drunk as he was, if not more. "you broke my heart, literally broke it, and you come back here like some prima donna and have the nerve to tell me you hate me. it doesn't work like that, annalys. you dumped me, you're supposed to leave me alone, let me be, just..." His words cut like knives to her heart, she knew he was drunk and everything and that she shouldn't let his words hurt so much. But then again Drunken words are almost always sober thoughts. So what he was saying now were more true than ever. "go away. it's not fair, lys." She bit her lip and frowned. The lump in her throat keeping herself from letting herself break kept her from speaking for a moment.
" come on... " she stepped towards him and stood next to him, wrapping an arm gently around his waist, taking his arm around her neck as she guided him into the house. Kicking the door behind her as she guided him towards the livingroom. " what on earth were you thinking Titan... Honestly how much have you had to drink?
|
" She guided him over to the couch and sat him down. She sat down on the coffee table in front of him for a moment and sighed. " You should get some sleep... " she said, standing up and looking at him once more. The pain that she felt in her chest was visible across her face.. She knew that this wasn't the end of his venting and back-lashing, and she needed to be strong if she ever planned on making it through his anger towards her. [/div]

SHE TIED YOU TO HER KITCHEN CHAIR, SHE BROKE YOUR THRONE AND SHE CUT YOUR HAIR, AND FRO YOUR LIPS SHE DREW THE HALLELUJAH. BABY I'VE BEEN HERE BEFORE. I'VE SEEN THIS ROOM AND I'VE WALKED THIS FLOOR. I USED TO LIVE ALONE BEFORE I KNEW YOU AND I'VE SEEN YOUR FLAG ON THE MARBLE ARCH AND LOVE IS NOT A VICTORY MARCH, IT'S A COLD AND BROKEN HALLELUJAH. sober, titan probably would have never put on such a scene- in public, at least, and while they weren't exactly in public, they were still visible to any peeping toms in the surrounding houses. however, he was the farthest thing from sober at the moment. he was extremely intoxicated, after several hours of drinking at a club in new york where he made the decision to travel back to his own city to let annalys how unhappy he was because she was back, if only for a short time. after he boarded his taxi, he gulped down even more alcohol, making him even more intoxicated than he was before. it definitely wasn't a smart move, but could one really blame him for drowning his sorrows with beer? no and truly, one couldn't even blame him for showing up at annalys' house at one am in the morning, because he was, after all, ten levels of drunk when he chose this particular course of action. it was a well known fact that when drunk, people are bound to make silly, stupid decisions that without a doubt would be regretted by the next morning. this was obviously one of those decisions, because he wouldn't think twice of coming back to this house, even if someone paid him, too. he never wanted to see annalys face to face again, however, there the two were- standing face t face.
though drunk, he could tell that annalys was shocked, but that wasn't much of a surprise. most anyone would be surprised if they found their drunk ex-boyfriend on their doorstep, especially if that ex-boyfriend who hadn't seen in five years and had a very, very recent argument with. what was surprising though, was that annalys didn't look mad. she didn't look disgusted or like she was ready to take her hand to slap him silly. instead, she looked like she felt bad for him, like she knew he was hurting. he definitely was in emotional pain, too and it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out. then words started to spill out of her mouth. not swears and insults, or threats that if he didn't get off her porch in two-point-five seconds, the cops would be called. she sounded like she cared, which was odd, because if he was in her position, he would have swore, insulted her, and threatened to call the cops. "come on..." she stepped out of her home's large doorway and, yet another shocker, snaked an arm around his torso before she guided him back into her house. "what on earth were you thinking titan... honestly how much have you had to drink?" even though he understood the words, the meaning didn't register in his head. he had no answer for her, because he didn't even know what he was thinking. he was hoping that he'd get drunk and have all the courage in the world to come accuse annalys of ruining his life, that he'd finally tell her what a bitch she was and how much she screwed up his future and broke his heart. obviously that wasn't what happened. then again, even drunk, he wasn't that stupid- he knew he would never be able to say such harsh things to annalys. maybe in his thoughts, maybe make them less cruel, but it was impossible for him to do that to her, even if he did hate her, which he didn't.
"you should get some sleep." she led him towards the couch, where she pushed him down. she put herself on the coffee table in front of him where she stayed for a couple of moments, before sighing and retreating back upstairs. there was no time for titan to retaliate or to even realize what he just happened, because as soon as she was gone, he was gone as well. he had wasted no time falling over on the extremely comfortable couch and passing out. no, this definitely did not turn out how he planned.
the twenty three year old boy was woken up by a pounding sensation in his had, predictably from the hours and hours of drinking in the new york city club the night before. it was definitely one of those mornings that he regretted everything that he had chosen to do in the past twelve hours. apparently, he had ended up in a random home instead of his hotel room. strange, because that usually never happened to him. he considered himself to be a very responsible drunk, one that didn't end up in beds that he wasn't familiar with- instead, he brought irresponsible drunks to his unfamiliar-for-them bed.
his head was a blur right off the bat when he woke up, with no knowledge to the prior night. he figured that it was thanks to all the alcohol he consumed, which wouldn't be odd- he did remember arriving to the call, ordering several rounds of shots for his 'posse' before his memory went blank. that's probably where this house came into play, however when he opened his eyes and studied his surroundings, they looked awfully familiar- he figured that it was just the model of the house that looked familiar, not the actual lot. a muttered "ow," was the first thing to come out of his mouth, immediately grabbing his bed-haired head. propping himself up with the little strength he had, he looked towards the window to the side of him, and a realization hit him- he wasn't in new york anymore. if he wasn't in new york city, though, where was he and how in the world did he get there? he turned his head slowly to the other side of him, which was apparently the kitchen. as he leaned forward more, he could make a person out. not necessarily the whole person thanks to the divider that was partly in the way. leaning even more forward, he could finally see the whole person at this angle. his eyes tried to adjust and while he thought he could have been imagining things, something else hit him- he was in new haven. he was in annalys' home.
titan stumbled up and off of the couch, still dizzy from all the alcohol he had allowed himself to take in. he still didn't have any balance, but he was able to at least keep himself off of the couch. he took a couple of steps forwards, towards the room that his ex was in, before he stopped about seven or eight feet away from the table she was at. "what the hell am i doing here?" he called, a bit louder than he wanted, and stuffed his hands into the pockets of the leather jacket that he had remembered putting on the night before. Closing the door behind her as she took a moment to gather herself. She leaned against the door and closed her eyes, assessing the complete situation because she still could not believe it; Titan was drunk off his ass, probably passed out already, In her house- her living room to be specific. But why? The last she knew he wanted nothing to do with her. And now he was showing up at her doorstep at one am in the morning telling her that she broke his heart. She wiped her eyes and took a deep breath. Yeah she was alone in her bedroom and could easily cry her emotions out in attempts to get rid of the giant ball of guilt and pain that she was currently holding in her chest. But it honestly wouldn't make her feel any better. She knew she broke his heart five years ago when she left. But she didn't realize just how broken she had left him. And to think that she was the one hurting the most.. was completely off.
Annalys went into her walk in closet and grabbed some pajamas out of one of the drawers and quickly changed. The only thing she could think of to help relieve herself of the pain she was feeling for hurting Titan so much was to sleep. Even if it would only temporarily cure her pain it was worth a shot. She went over to her bed and climbed in, curling herself into a ball under the thick blankets before she spotted something sitting on top of her vanity mirror. She climbed out and went over to it, lightly placing a hand on her chest as she realized what it was. It had been so long since she had been home she hadn't noticed it in the past week that she was here. Usually she spent her time here at home sleeping in the downstairs guest bedroom while her parents put her room back together. Her mother must have been the one to place the familiar white framed photo on her vanity. Annalys picked it up and traced her fingers across the photo. It was of her and Titan right before they left the house to go to prom. They were all dressed up and ready to go. But of course her mother had to take a million photo's before they were allowed to leave. It had gotten to the point that her father pretty much had to take the camera away just so they would make it on time. Annalys held the photo to her chest for a moment. The memory was painful now considering the current state of her relationship with Titan. She opened one of the drawers of her vanity and placed the picture inside before going back to her bed and crawling under the covers. She was sure she would never be able to sleep now. But oddly enough sleep came rather easily..
"i love you" The words sounded so real to Annalys that she woke up instantly, her sleepy and groggy state of emotion scanned her room for a sign as to where it came from. In her half-asleep state she was sure that it was real. But it was nothing but a dream about the past. Annalys ran her fingers through her messy curls and rubbed her eyes. Not quite sure if everything last night was a dream or not she climbed out of bed, stretching quickly before going over to her vanity. If it wasn't a dream she didn't want to look like a complete mess when he saw her. And even if it was a dream, she still liked to look presentable. Annalys adjusted her shirt as it hung loosely over her toned stomach. She slid on her black slipper-boots and went to her bathroom to brush her teeth before walking down stairs.
Standing outside her room at the top of the staircase she listened closely to the silence in the house for a moment before heading down. She walked into the living room to find that everything that happened was in fact real, and that Titan was in fact passed out on her couch. She took a deep breath, knowing that when he woke up there would probably be more rather rough words thrown at her. She walked past him and into the kitchen. She grabbed a box of cheerio's down from the pantry and poured some into a bowl along with some milk. Returning everything to their original places before heading into the breakfast area. She glanced up from her position, noticing that she could see Titan still asleep on the couch. She sighed, grabbing her book from where she had left it on the table. Picking back up from where she left off last night as she ate her Cheerio's.
"what the hell am I doing here?" She looked up from her book to see a rather hungover Titan standing a few feet away. "Do you have to yell?" she said to him as she stood up from the table and took her bowl from the sink. "You were drunk last night when you showed up on my doorstep." she sighed, looking up to him and turning off the water. "I couldn't just leave you outside... So i put you on the couch and you passed out. And here we are.." she shrugged. Not exactly knowing what to do in this type of situation. How could she tell him that he came over and was a complete wreck telling her that she broke his heart causing hers to break all over again. She sighed, She was obviously hurting and didn't know how to fix things. And honestly, that was what she wanted most.. For everything to be fixed. She wanted to go over to him and hold him and fix his broken heart that she had left him with. She wanted to kiss him and make all the pain go away. But she knew that if she did so she would probably hear a lot of swearing and be pushed away. She turned and grabbed a bottle of water and some pain relief off of the counter, turning and sliding it over to him. Watching him closely with pain in her eyes. "It'll make you feel better." she spoke softly. As if she felt bad that he had a hangover. Which she kind of did, but then again it was also mixed with feeling bad about breaking his heart.

"do you have to yell?" annalys said, in a quiet, much calm tone than his. "you were drunk last night when you showed up on my doorstep." she added and titan's eyebrows narrowed in confusion. he knew as much as the first part, but what was she talking about towards the end of that statement? he'd showed up at her doorstep? why in hell would he ever do that? he knew to stay away from her, he had practiced it like it was a religion. for the past five years, he had done nothing but avoid her- avoid her in commercials on television, click the red-x button when she showed up in preroll ads in youtube videos, the couple specials that she had been in for the company. he'd even seen posters of her flaunting her boobs in the mall, and when he did, he wouldn't even walk past it, like passing it would trigger some sort of emotional pain, which it probably would. why in the hell would he show up at her doorstep? did he really get that drunk last night? one thing was for sure, though. if she was telling the truth and he really did show up looking like an intoxicated jackass, than he felt like the biggest idiot ever. "so i put you on the couch and you passed out and here we are." he had to admit, though, the fact that she didn't leave him outside all night and had been considerate enough to at least put him on the couch made him feel a little better about this entire situation.
she turned around so her back was faced towards him and grabbed a bottle of water as well as some sort of pain relief and gestured it towards him. he wasn't going to lie, whatever medication that was, he'd take it. as long as it got rid of the excruciating headache that he was getting from all of the confusion, on top of the killer headache that was working at his head simultaneously, he didn't care what it was. he looked wary for about three seconds but after a while, he didn't care about keeping the stiff face he was holding. he would, however, refuse to make eye contact with her. titan pulled his hands out of his leather jacket's pockets and took the bottle of water and pain relief from her hands. this was sort of unbelievable. she was joking about the whole nice thing, right? after the conversations they had had earlier that night and even the night before this one, he would think that she was more likely to call the police on him if he had showed up at her door, nonetheless let him sleep on her couch and then give him medicine to relieve the pain from all the drinking he had done before. it was unreal. the first thing he thought, though, above the possibility that she was just trying to be a decent person was that she was playing a game with his head. he was sure the next time they got into an argument, she would bring this up. she'd accuse him of being an asshole, he'd accuse her of being a little bitch, and then she'd remind him of what she did when he showed up ten levels of intoxicated at her door at, what he assumed, was pretty late in the early hours of the morning- the very early hours of the morning.
the twenty three old quickly drowned the pills down his throat with the room temperature- the only way he'd drink water- water and then reached behind her to set the bottle back on the counter. he stuffed his hands back to the pockets that they were originally in before he dared to say anything. what was he supposed to say, anyway? thank you, but this doesn't mean anything, i still blame you for everything wrong in my life? obviously that wasn't the route to go, but he assumed that it was the only reason a drunk titan would show up at her house at all, because he really meant it when he said he never wanted to come face to face with her again. even though he wasn't looking at her, just the presence of her hurt. being in her home hurt just as much. "oh. it's just... odd. i was in new york city. i don't know what would possess me to do this." he said, still not making eye contact with his ex. "i must of, uh, gotten really drunk. that's not like me." why was he talking like she didn't know who he was? then again, four, about five years changed a lot and she probably didn't anymore. he felt like he never even knew annalys, so why wouldn't it be the same for her? "but thanks for doing that. 'preciate it... and i'm sorry. i don't know what i was thinking last night. obviously i wasn't in my right mind." he said, almost no emotion in his tone. he flicked his eyes towards her, kept them there for two or three seconds, before he looked away again, just like a coward.
