[/B]" Elsie had asked as she was rushing to get into the shower. The rest of her sorority had all planned on attending the mixer that alpha delta phi was throwing. She had been to plenty of mixers with the girls and didn't know why they were making this one so important. ' because Max is attending that's why!' she heard someone call to her as she got into the shower, she heard footsteps get closer and then the bathroom door open. ' he's only like, the most popular and most gorgeous man to ever be a part of alpha delta phi. I'm surprised you didn't already know that!' she heard, recognizing the voice as none other than Candice; the sorority president. And as soon as she spoke of max Elsie remembered. Candice was always talking about him and the fact that she was determined to catch his eye. Elise rolled her eyes as she finished up her shower. " Oh you mean that one guy you're totally obsessed with? yeah I've heard about him. But you know me I barely ever pay attention to guys. None have interested me here.[/B]" Candice gave her a shocked expression and walked away, It was the one sentence that Elise knew she could say and get Candice or any of the other girls off of her back about boys. Not that she was just saying that no one had caught her eye just to get the girls to leave her alone about it, it was the honest truth. She wrapped her towel around her torso and walked back into her room, what on earth was she supposed to wear? Usually she would just toss on something simple but tonight she wanted to go all-out. She changed into her favorite underwear and stood in front of her closet, staring down her options as though they would make the decision for her. She grabbed a plain white tank top and slid it on, at least it was a start. And then she found her favorite off the shoulder shirt, sliding that on she grabbed a pair of jeans and pulled them on before she went to her vanity to fix her hair and makeup. She blew her long blonde hair dry and noticed that her natural waves looked really pretty today, which was a shocker to her because normally they were a frizzy mess. She shrugged and did her makeup before Candice came back in. ' I like the outfit Elsie!' she said as she walked over and sat on her bed. Candice was, of course, dressed rather provocatively. It made Elsie stand out like a sore thumb. She was probably the most innocent girl in the sorority and was definitely the only virgin which at times was a bit intimidating. Elsie slid on her black heels and looked at her outfit in the mirror before Candice began dragging her down the stairs to where the other girls were. ' are we ready?' Candice asked her excitedly, most of the other girls had already headed over to Alpha Delta Phi. It wasn't very far to the fraternity, and it would have been hard to miss all of the loud music and kids stumbling away. They entered the house and found some of the other girls dancing next to the dj. Candice pulled Elsie over to the group and they all started dancing. That was when Candice had begun staring off into the distance as she danced, she had a smirk and a look of determination. Elsie followed her gaze and leaned close to her, " who's that?" she asked as she looked away from the boy and back at Candice. ' that my friend is Max' she said smiling. Elsie looked back over at the boy who was standing with his friends next to a keg, one of them was attempting to do a kegstand and failing miserably. Elsie looked away shyly as she shrugged at Candice. If Candice could catch his eye then more power to her. Elsie had no chance with him, or so she told herself. She was just a freshman and he was a graduate. And not just any graduate, he was Maxamillian Jerico Van Dyke. the guy that all of her sorority sisters wanted and or have had a piece of. hjkljlk YOU HEARD THAT I WAS TROUBLE BUT YOU COULDN'T RESIST what people said about life getting even more complicated after college just wasn't the case of maximillian van dyke. it wasn't a nightmare like he had imagined it would be with the way people always complained about finding jobs and how the economy sucked so bad and yada-yada. in fact, it was heaven. after he graduated from yale, max van dyke had never been so happy. things weren't exactly simple, but they weren't boring or hard either. it was crazy and wild and fast- it was a big rush, which made his life even more appealing. what was just as great about post-education living was that he could be whoever he wanted to be. he had the choice to be party-boy, fraternity legend, retired big man on campus maximillian jericho van dyke or he could be professional, boring lawyer to-be who had no fun mister van dyke. really? where was the competition in that? obviously, the choice was in the first option. no one wanted to have a dull life, other than accountants and stuff, and max was no accountant. he wanted to live fast and do things without thinking and still be invited to the same parties that he was invited to while he was in college. he wanted his name to live on as the badass boy who never failed to have a good time and he wanted people to look up to him as the guy who partied hard one night and did it all over again. the only way that that was possible? live the way he wanted to.
it was no surprise when max's text inbox and voicemails were clogged with messages regarding a mixer involving the two most prestigous, popular, social sorority and fraternity at yale. the two said-organizations were filled with the party people of the university, the ones who attended yale for the education, but stayed for the wild parties and even more wild people. it was no shocker that maximillian was more than willing to go either. if it had been any other group at the school, it would most likely be a definite no. however, these groups were special to max. they each held a special place in his heart. alpha delta phi because it had been his home for the past four years up until he had graduated. the minute rush week was initiated, max went straight to alpha delta phi and that's where he stayed for the rest of his education career. he climbed his way to the top like his father did so many years before him and by the time he had transitioned into his third year of college, he was already the president of the out-of-control fraternity, much like his dad. he liked to think that it wasn't until he came into control of the group that it reached it's golden age, even though it was already the best one could possibily find at yale. the corresponding sorority, kappa alpha theta, was special to him because he screwed most all of the girls in the organization until he graduated, pledges and sisters alike. in the beds of the kappa alpha theta's girls was where he spent a lot of his time during college.
just because he was now an undergraduate of yale, that didn't make it any less different. in fact, he spent a lot of his time out of college still in the beds of the kappa alpha theta girls' beds as it was. however, he had yet to find the time to make it to one of their notorious mixers and when he received the dozens of phone calls and texts about the one that was being held on that night, he wasted no time letting oliver devereux, the new president and what he liked to call his 'apprentice,' that he would most definitely be there, who apparently spread the news to both of the sorority and the fraternity that would be attending the event.
as always, max showed up to the party fashionably late but his appearance was still praised as he walked up the steps to the house, the lawn already litered with cans of bear and empty red cups, and even a couple of fools who were bad at holding alcohol in their systems well enough to stay concious for more than an hour. it was just like old days. the house didn't seem to change either, because he still got that vibe when he entered- alive, like everything was a rush, as if life was only a big party. immediately, he was dragged to a keg surrounded by oliver and a couple of the other brothers, as well as a couple of pledges trying their hardest to fit in. of course, one couldn't forget the lingering girls from the counterpart sorority that was loitering around them as well, praying for at least a glance their way. however, the boys were too indulged in the kegstand that one of the pledges was attempting but failing miserably at. max, however, was more interested in the new faces of kappa alpha theta. he could clearly recognize the ones that were there from the previous years- obviously, he'd slept with all of them at least once and some were lucky enough to get a second time in bed with him- but there were a couple newbies that stood out like a sore thumb. innocent and naive, fully clothed, and all around young- they were babies compared to the rest of the sisters.
there was one in particular that stood out the best to him. it was a tall, very thin blonde, one that looked like she belonged in a victoria secrets ad, not in a room full of drunk and horny college kids. he leaned towards oliver, who was still hollering at the boy trying to master a kegstand, and called out, "who's she?" and gestured with a nod towards the blonde across the room. oli turned his attention away from the pledge long enough to notice who max was talking about, and muttered just audible for him to hear, "elle or something- she's only a pledge. freshman, dude, don't waste your time," and then his attention was turned back to the poor kid on the keg but it was all that max needed to make a move.
maneuvering across the room with smiles and dancing, all the while trying not to spill the red cup filled with beer that was extremely dilluted with water, max kept his eyes on the girl, elle, running over how he would approach her in his mind. after a couple moments of the jungle of bodies groping, humping, and dancing, he appeared next to the group of girls- most of them looked like pledges, because none of them looked too familiar- and stood in between two of them opposite of 'elle.' maximillian van dyke- you can call me max, the words flowed from his mouth, as soft, charming, and attractive as words could possibly be. and you all are? he said, and even though it was a general statement, he didn't remove his eyes from the blonde's that had caught his attention once. 1119, RORY AS ELISE, CLOTHES, PARTY LALALALA

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style, background-color: #423c42;,true][cs=2] & YOU'RE NOT EVEN HUMAN ` YOU'RE JUST A LOVELY IDEA OF ONE WHO I ACCIDENTALLY LOVED AND GAVE EVERYTHING TO BECOME THE GIRL ON THE PIANO BENCH SINGING ALL OF HER TEARS - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - away | [atrb=width,240] Elise wasn't really one of those girls who knew how to act in a situation involving the opposite sex. The only boy she was around constantly was her brother, and obviously that wasn't going to give her much of a clue as to how to react when a boy approaches you. Sure she's seen it in movies all the time but experiencing it was another story all together. Elise has seen her sorority sisters talk to boys all the time but she wasn't like them, she didn't go out of her way to get a boys attention or even to talk to them. If she spoke to a boy it was usually in class which made things easy because mostly they were talking about the class and not really any personal information. Sure she had said hi to boys all the time and she would acknowledge them when they acknowledged her. but most of the time when she was out with her sorority sisters she was more of a wing woman to them. If one girl wanted to talk to a guy she would help figure out a way for her to get his attention, she would help in any way she could. Which wasn't much to be honest. She was naive and innocent yes. But she had also seen movies. so most of the time she was acting when she would talk to boys. So it really wasn't her talking to them it was her alter ego. The person she wished she was. Elise wished that she could be as confident as the other girls that she was surrounded by. She wished she had the street smarts that they had. But she was a very sheltered child growing up. Straight A student that never broke the rules. Sure she bent the rules all the time but she never broke them. Her brother always broke the rules and she saw the kinds of trouble that he got himself into and that wasn't what she wanted out of life. She wanted more. She wanted something exciting to walk into her life and take her by surprise. Maybe a wild and crazy love life? no that wasn't very likely.
She needed something fun, and she had a feeling that something eventful was going to happen sometime tonight at the party. Especially when she noticed Max was looking at her. She looked over at Candice who was drinking probably a little too much than she should and was already obviously tipsy. Of course the one person she could go to for advice as to what to do in a situation where the most popular boy to be in this fraternity was looking at her, he was a graduate. What on earth could he possibly see in her? she was just a pledge right now. Nothing very exciting. It wasn't like she was super pretty or anything. Elise took a sip of her punch and prayed that Candice hadn't spiked it or anything. She really didn't need to deal with that on top of her nerves and worries about boys. She smiled at Candice when she presented a distraction and the two of them danced a bit. Elise loved parties and everything and she planned on having an amazing twenty first birthday and everything. But drinking wasn't on top of her to-do lists and she didn't plan on having it on there any time soon. Elise couldn't help but notice that Max had left his group of friends at the keg. Not thinking anything of it she turned her attention back to Candice who was stumbling more, "Cand, i think you've had enough for now. Maybe you should get some water?
|
[/color]" Elise was attempting to be a good friend to Candice but she had a feeling that Candice didn't plan on getting water as she stumbled away to the kitchen. Elise shook her head and smiled, taking a slow sip of her drink before turning to two of the other girls. She looked up and noticed that Max was headed towards her. She felt her nerves building up as he reached the three girls standing there. ' oh my god, what am i going to say? i'm going to say something stupid i know it... no, no you're not, you're going to be confident. Think of a movie![/i]' her thoughts raced to try and figure out what she was going to do. And that was when he spoke. " maximillian van dyke- you can call me max," His voice sounded so cool and confident, so... charming. Elise definitely wasn't prepared for this. And the fact that he seemed to mainly be focused on her definitely wasn't making anything easy on her. She could feel her heart beating in her ears and her throat closing. She took a slow drink of her punch. " and you all are?" Elise watched as the other two girls spoke with confidence. Well, one of them did. The other got way too excited with the fact that Max was talking to her and she sort of just, downed her drink and stood there smiling like a little kid who just spotted santa. Elise was determined to keep cool and she smiled at him, " Elise Lafontaine, You can call me Elle.[/color]" her voice sounded way more collected than she had expected and she was actually quite proud of herself standing strong with her naturally good posture. She glanced at the two girls as Dianne turned and grabbed Gisella, the one who had smiled like a little kid, and walked away. Her heart dropped as she watched the two girls abandon her and leaving her standing there in front of Max. What was she supposed to do? she could have easily left and followed the girls, running away with her tail between her legs like a lost puppy. But she would never be able to get her dignity back. Instead she stayed where she was, " Sorry about Gisella, she's kind of.. excitable.[/color]" she said, laughing softly as she held her drinks with both hands. She was hoping to distract the conversation off of herself and onto Gisella, but she knew that wouldn't last very long. hjkljlk YOU HEARD THAT I WAS TROUBLE BUT YOU COULDN'T RESIST as good of a mask this girl, this pledge, who couldn't be older than nineteen, tried to put on, tried to fool max, the twenty four year old was better. what did this mean, though? it meant he could see through acts. obviously, this girl was putting on a performance for max, because as he had studied her previously from afar, she was just... she was awkward, that was the word. she was awkward. she seemed to not fit in with the rest of her friends. not in the way of looks, because hell, she belonged in a victoria secret campaign, but by the plain fact that she wasn't already in a drunken haze or upstairs in one of the frat-brother's beds. she wasn't groping her sisters and she wasn't humping whatever she could find so she could attract more things to hump, but she was being... well, she was being appropriate. it was strange for someone- especially a pledge- to act that way at a mixer. from the looks of her friends, they certainly knew how to be apart of a greek system's party, especially apart of one of the most 'prestigious,' social sororities there possibly was. after five years of experience, max could see right through her. was he going to embarrass her and call her out on her at here, in front of everyone? no, of course not. he may have been an asshole sometimes, but not all the time. besides, where would the fun be in that? if she was willing to act, then he was willing to play along. why not?
as he waited for this girl to answer, who was obviously still trying to remain collected, he became aware of his surroundings. two girls, either side of him which he had noticed before, that weren't as pretty as the other blonde in front of him, and another blonde a couple feet off that was stumbling around like an idiot, completely making a fool out of herself- but wasn't that what you were supposed to do at a mixer? take the boys at the keg, for example. they were still hooting and hollering for the young man trying to achieve the keg stand, that was clearly never going to happen. it was nature. however, for this girl? it clearly wasn't for her, an already established fact. elise lafontaine, you can call me elle. elise lafontaine. frech. very clearly french. the best kind of girl in max's own opinon. after a couple more moments of silent eye contact, he realized that her two friends were giggling, and after a few seconds of their snickering, they sauntered off and left max alone with elle- or more so, they left their friend elle alone with max. sorry about gisella, she's kind of... excitable. gisella? what was up with these pledge's names? they were more exotic than he remembered, as sexy as a name could possibly be. he grinned in response, snorting in amusement. honestly, he could have cared less about gisella and the other girl that had left with her. all he was interested in was the girl standing in front of him. she was much prettier than the two of them combined and as far as he could tell, she would seem much funner to mess around than those two. she would be a challenge and he liked challenges.
understandable. they can't all be as calm and collected as you seem to be. where would the fun in that be? he said, making a very subtle taunt towards her not-so-obvious mask, however crystal clear to him. he offered a half smile. i'm wondering what there is to be so excited about, though. i hope it's not on my behalf. max moved closer towards the younger, obviously less experienced blonde, now only a couple steps keeping them apart. unless it is, in which case, i'm still left wondering why it's exciting. he had to admit- there was nothing as satisfying as hearing what a legend he was from the mouth of someone else, especially when they only knew about half of his infamous reputation. RORY AS ELISE, CLOTHES, SORRY THAT ITS KIND OF SHORT COMPARED TO YOURS :C

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style, background-color: #423c42;,true][cs=2] & YOU'RE NOT EVEN HUMAN ` YOU'RE JUST A LOVELY IDEA OF ONE WHO I ACCIDENTALLY LOVED AND GAVE EVERYTHING TO BECOME THE GIRL ON THE PIANO BENCH SINGING ALL OF HER TEARS - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - away | [atrb=width,240] "As soon as Elise had decided that she wanted Max to come over for the night she felt herself get nervous. She had never had a boy stay over so everything was a new experience. Hell, everything with Max was a new experience. But seeing him open up to her tonight made her hopeful, it made her start to think that- hey, maybe he could be a good guy. That there was more to him than the hard ass outer shell that he kept up constantly. One day a girl was going to come along in his life and be the one to change his life completely. For all she knew she could be that girl. She wasn't like the rest of the girls that Max encountered, she was different. Maybe that would be good for him. He needed a girl that wasn't just going to throw herself at him. He needed someone to take care of him, and be there for him no matter what. Elise was determined to be there for him, which was odd because they had just met each other recently. It didn't matter though, she cared about him and that was what really mattered. She would be the best friend he could ever have. Sure he was always saying how he wanted to sleep with her and stuff like that. But that wasn't going to happen. Not anytime soon that is. She was determined to help change him, but not change herself. It would definitely be a hard challenge for her to take on but it would all be worth it in the end, right? God she hoped so. Yeah the idea of having a relationship with someone as attractive and charming as him would be fun and exciting. But she wouldn't let herself go through a relationship with him knowing how he is to girls, knowing that he cheats on his current girlfriend. Yeah she wasn't being very helpful by inviting him over for the night. But that was all strictly as a friend's point of action. She refused to let him do anything tonight that would go against her own moral code. She couldn't let herself get hurt.
Elise turned off her macbook and closed it, sliding open the desk drawer and setting it in it's usual spot before standing up. She looked into her floor-length mirror and took a deep breath. The one thing that she had a problem with was her appearance, she had a self confidence issue that got to her easily. And having Max point out flaws in her pictures made her really got to her. She stared at her legs, they weren't as skinny as they used to be which was good. They looked more normal. Back in the pictures she had shown him she had gone through a really bad time, she had to be skinny. Before college life she used to be annorexic. She took diet pills and pills to control her hunger. She would slip her dinner to the dogs and it eventually got to the point where she didn't eat at all, ever. It had gotten really bad when she graduated high school, basically to the point where if she didn't change back that she would die. It was definitely a reality check for her and she went to a summer institution to get back into normal eating habits. But her body was still adjusting back to eating normally. She still found herself getting sick sometimes if she ate just a little too much. And getting herself back to a healthy weight was taking a long time to accomplish. With Max picking out her flaws on the pictures it started cracking her confidence and her walls blocking out the thoughts that she used to have that first got her to stop eating, chicken legs, wrinkly arms. Elle looked at her legs and ran her hands across her arms. Nothing was really wrong with her skin and her legs weren't skinny anymore. But it was still a definite setback on all of her mental and physical progress to get back to loving her body.
Elle sighed and went over to her dresser, She was already wearing her favorite black pajama shorts and a matching black tank top, but her chest and arms were still exposed. And she knew that Max had a think about exposed skin and that if she wanted to keep the temptation away that she had to cover up a little more. She grabbed her favorite baby-blue three-quarter-length sleeve's t-shirt and slid it on. It covered up her exposed top well. Her legs were still exposed but that wasn't such a bad thing. Or so she liked to think it wasn't. If she wasn't covered up enough for him then when he got here she would put on some pajama pants for him. Anything to make him more comfortable being around her without all of the sexual needs that she figured he got when he was around a girl. She looked at the clock on the wall, he should be arriving pretty soon. Elle took a deep breath, preparing herself for a very interesting night. Their conversation had gotten pretty intense over the chat earlier and she definitely needed to be more prepared for an in person conversation. She wouldn't be able to take a second and think with him sitting in front of her. She had to be able to respond to him quickly and comfortingly. She was the least judgmental person in her sorority and probably the one person that she could honestly say he would be able to trust. Whenever someone opens up to her it makes her feel more important in their life. Like she takes a part of that burden off of their shoulders to help get them through life. She would be here for Max through anything that happens. Whether it's girl problems that he needs a girl's perspective on, or if he just needs something to do for the night. She would be there. Always.
