So yeah, it was a few days after his birthday and all, but he'd been out filming that day and there wouldn't have been much time for a party. His friends and fellow actors had demanded he throw himself a party though and so here he was, rushing around the house, making sure everything was perfect. Talking to the caterer about the food and refreshments, moving a few decorations until they looked like they were in the right place, then before he knew it he was out of time and he had to get himself ready. He'd been sleeping for most of the last twenty-four hours because he'd gotten home late and he'd been exhausted so he had a bit of stubble and he just looked all sorts of scruffy, which of course wouldn't do when you were throwing a massive celebrity party at your house. You had to look your most presentable.
The invitations had stated that the clothing was to be casual, which at the very least meant the guys didn't have to wear a suit or a tux, but the girls were more than likely to still wear overly dressed up dresses, after all they couldn't show themselves at a party without looking their best? At least the house was surrounded by a pretty decent size wall and there was no way the paparazzi were getting past the gate. Sure a few select photographers had been hired, because the world demanded coverage of such events, but the paparazzi would never be allowed within the borders of his land. Yeah you could say he owed land, he had a massive garden with a lot of different flowers and trees, it was such a pretty and well kept place because he loved walking around in there when he had the spare time to, and the gardner he'd hired was very happy to be allowed to do something aside from the ordinary.
He let out a soft sigh as he stepped into the shower and allowed the hot spray of water to thoroughly soak him, he shaved most of the stubble off in the shower and then stepped out and finished up what little had been missed by the mirror. Then he proceeded to put on some aftershave and brush his teeth. The party was going to be fun but exhausting. Honestly he wished he could have just had a small party with his family and a few select friends. Oh well, he guessed there was nothing to do about that and soon it was time for the guests to arrive, so he stepped into the clothes he'd chosen, a dark set of dressy pants, a shirt and a green sweater. He looked stylish but not overly dressed and he hoped most of the guys would have done the same. Oh well, he wasn't going to wear a suit, they did that enough as it was and if people wanted to complain about it? Well let them.
Soon the guests had arrived and were walking around, chatting and mingling and trying to at least have met everyone at one point of the night. Nix himself was bouncing from one person to the next so fast his head was almost spinning because it really wouldn't do for the host not to have greeted everyone at least once. There would be dinner in a bit, but people like having a drink and some snacks before dinner as well, and he wasn't going to change that tradition. New people were coming in every moment and he was glad his dining room was big. Even if he considered this a big party though, it really wasn't that huge, mostly because it was limited how many people with a +1 he could fit into his house regardless of it's size. Then the announcement that dinner was being served brought everyone to the table and again he found himself busy chatting with the people sitting next to him.
To say he was glad that the meal was over when it was, well that was the understatement of the year and he couldn't have eaten another bite if he'd been paid to. Again the mingling started, but now there was also dancing in one of the rooms that had been rigged up as a dance floor and people were full and content, it calmed the whole situation a little and finally he could just sit down and have a drink, allowing himself to relax, the caterer had the rest under control along with the people at the bar. For a while he just sat in one of the couches, idly talking to whoever walked by and let himself enjoy the party, it wasn't really so bad once it got to this point, it was all the planning and getting things going that was the stressful part. A laugh escaped him as someone told a joke and then before he knew it he found himself in a discussion about some of his recent movies, of course this tended to happen a lot with this crowd.

nolan bennett rarely asked how he ended up places. honestly, there was no point in doing that because when it all came down to it, there was really only one reason that stuck with him no matter where he ended up and that simple reason was just that he was nolan bennett. he got places. he did things and got away with it. he crashed parties and through his own and got into crazy fucked up situations and honestly? that was okay with him. that was how he chose to live his life - how he preferred to live his life in all honesty - and he was not going to complain about the many benefits that came with just simply being him. like all the sex, the alcohol, rarely drugs but hey he'd try anything once. and then the fact that he was able to hook up with people with connections who were able to take him to one of the biggest parties he could think of, that of one mister phoenix walton, of whom nolan was a rather big fan.
but he wasn't happy to be at the party just because phoenix was a star. no, that was nice and everything, and he was really happy for the dude and his success or what the fuck ever, but he was there for one reason and one reason only - it was a party and that meant it was an opportunity to get laid. and he definitely wasn't going to have it be with the actress he'd arrived with because, hello, already tapped that and fuck going back for seconds, especially when she wasn't even that good of a fuck. no, he was going to find someone new. a b-movie actress or actor, a background character, maybe even just someone who often worked behind the scenes and felt unappreciated and unwanted. there was so much superficiality when it came to hollywood and all of that bullshit that it meant there was a lot of insecurity and there was nothing - nothing in the world - easier to do than an insecure and drunk party-goer. no matter how famous.
however as he got more and more drunk, his targets became a little skewed in his mind. he kept telling himself to avoid phoenix at all costs when he first arrived, convinced that pushing it with the man was just going to get him kicked out or rejected or banned and it would get the woman he arrived with in trouble. which he didn't want, considering even if he didn't even remember the poor lass's name, it wasn't her fault she made the mistake of thinking that nolan bennett was ever going to want anything more than a casual fuck and as a result took him to a party to impress him and keep him around. it wasn't. some people were just naive and though it annoyed (and amused) him, nolan wasn't that much of a jackass. he didn't like anyone getting in trouble, but he especially didn't like when they got like that because of him. because then he had responsibility and that meant a connection and connections were the one thing nolan bennett tried to avoid. because fuck that.
but soon, the thought of "stay away from phoenix" was morphing into "i wonder where phoenix is" and "why haven't i seen phoenix?" and he could feel in his buzzed state his eyes searching the room for the familiar face, resting on where the crowd gathered and narrowing in on his target. he had to face it - compared to the shining star in the room everyone else just paled in comparison. he could try to land someone else, someone less worthy of his affections, but honestly, all he could do was sit there and point out all the flaws in the people around him. too big of a nose, too fake, weird chin, wanky elbows, bad legs, and the like. then there were some people who were just too pretty - and obviously had work which he didn't want. no, compared to the man of the hour, there was no one to meet the bennett standards he was so famous for. so he zeroed in on phoenix and decided to just go for it.
it started slow. he first joined the small crowd standing around talking to him while he sat on the couch and nolan admired his features as he spoke, laughed, trying to find the strong points and failing to find the flaws. as people circulated in and out of the little circle he managed to make his way closer to the man until he was able to take someone's place on the couch next to him. then he was able to more carefully study him without people caring because when you're sitting next to phoenix walton, who the fuck is going to look at you? he really was a good-looking man and it was something that nolan could appreciate and he made sure to allow minimal contact - barely a brush of knees - as conversation carried on. and when the crowd started to thin out a bit more while people got more and more drunk, he took the chance to lean in and purr quietly into his ear, "it's technically a little late but happy birthday beautiful." who cared if he didn't know him? who cared if phoenix was going to ask about who he was? nolan was as good an actor as he. even drunk, he could probably have the man convinced they had met before. this was his game, his playing field. maybe he wasn't welcome but fuck, this was home to him.

As the party moved on he had another couple of drinks, not in the way a lot of the guests did though. He sipped slowly at his drinks and made them last, because he wasn't going to get wasted and cause a scene at his own party. In fact he wasn't really the kind to do that at any party because he genuinely cared about what sort of things his family would have to read about him the next day. By the time the crowd was thinning because people were getting drunk and some people had started leaving, he was more listening to the conversation around him than he was talking. People didn't seem to notice, or they didn't seem to mind, some were tying to convince him he should take a role in this or that movie that was going to be made, and a few were actually rude enough to try to talk him into doing this or that event to him while they figured he'd be drunk enough to be fooled by their so called good offers. Oh he did plenty of events but he only ever bothered doing them if the cause was a properly good one. Shallow promoting of a makeup line for instance, really just wasn't the kind of thing he was after doing.
Maybe a lot of the crowd didn't notice when Nolan took the seat next to him, but he did notice himself. Mostly he noticed because he was certain he had never met this guy in his life. It wasn't such a big deal of course, since everyone who had been invited had been allowed to bring a plus one of their choice. This meant that Nolan was probably one of those and that he'd been brought here by someone, however he couldn't help but to notice how attractive this guy was, and he did notice the way their knees seemed to casually brush every so often. Well casually wasn't the right word, because by the impression he got as he studied the guy out of the corner of his eyes, he got the impression it wasn't as casual as it was planned. It wasn't the first time he'd had people hit on him at parties, but this intrigued him because it wasn't that often the one hitting on him was a guy, of course it didn't bother him, considering he was interested in guys, but most people believed him to be straight and so most guys steered clear.
For the moment though, the producer of his latest movie was demanding his attention by talking about the set and the scenes they filmed the day before and he was forced to ignore the advances made on him. As the conversation droned on and on and on he found himself getting more and more exhausted. This had supposed to be a break from the actual work, but had turned out to be more of a contest where people tried to get him to do various things for them, and taking bout work. His smiles became more and more forced as time went on and as much as he was trying to be pleasant to the people talking to him, he was having more and more trouble staying polite. Was it so much to ask for, to be allowed to have one party where all he had to do was chat about random things and not worry about what would happen next work wise. Of course he'd never run out of work, people were lining up to have him join in on the next movie, but a break every now and then didn't hurt.
Soon he found himself not really listening and just tossing out random yes, and nos and uhus trying to make them believe he was listening. It was at that moment Nolan chose to lean in and whisper in his ear, and since he'd been zoning out it caught him a little by surprise. "Thanks" he replied, also in a bit of a whisper considering someone was still in the belief they had his attention, when really, at that point the whisper had stolen his focus. Finally having had enough he sighed. "Mr. Carter, I believe we'll have plenty of time to discuss this on Monday, and I would really like to get back to my party, if you'll excuse me" and then he more or less turned his back to the guy, now facing Nolan instead, and somehow the small crowd that was left took the hint and vanished off somewhere else. There was only so much a guy would put up with and he'd found his limit.
"I don't believe I've seen you around before. Did you come here with someone?" he asked, really he wasn't going to make a big deal out of it, but he was going to make damn sure this wasn't some paparazzi that had snuck in with the cover of being someone's plus one. That really was the only reason he'd consider throwing someone out at this point, but as far as he could tell, the guy didn't seem to have a camera. Now that he was truly looking at the guy, he found that he sure was pretty damn good looking, not that this made a difference really, he wasn't in the mood for a one night stand or anything of the sort. At the same time he thought to himself that this could definitely be the kind of one night stand he wouldn't have turned down if the offer came along, even if he was exhausted and really just wanted to go to bed and sleep for another twenty-four hours or so.

he wasn't going to lie - he was not in the least bit intimidated by the fact that he was attempting to hit on a celebrity. some people might be. some people might try too hard or get too intimidated to get themselves to work up to the standards that they were used to. but those people were not nolan bennett. nolan was simple in that he didn't care who it was as long as he was getting some action and even if he didn't know if phoenix even liked men (though there were rumors that he liked to believe were true), judging by his reaction to him he was either very interested in talking to him or just looking for an excuse to turn away from the man who had been chattering incessantly away at him. no matter what the option, nolan was incredibly happy to oblige and even let the shadow of a smirk fall onto his lips that he let curve into a soft smile. it was that easy.
of course he had to attribute it to the fact that he was an attractive guy. maybe a little on the short side and people liked to point out the definite jewish background but he was pretty. people wanted to get in closer to his face and he was not going to deny them that. whether or not phoenix turned his way because of the man who wouldn't leave him alone or because nolan was just pretty enough to pull his attention away from everyone else...well, he didn't care. he was just going to attribute it to the latter because it would make it much easier for him to keep up his ego and thus much easier for him to continue on with phoenix and just hope to god that he wasn't boring as fuck so he didn't start losing his mojo. though who the fuck was he kidding? he was talking to a celebrity. he was bound to be even slightly interesting, right?
because honestly nolan didn't know. he didn't invest his time in other people's lives and he expected them to do the same for him. it was just not his thing to go prying. he took things as they came to him and though he'd heard rumors about phoenix's sexuality that was about as much as he paid attention to his life if only because of a moment that could end up like this: with him at his place giving him that sweet little smile of his and with that silent little invitation to go somewhere more private that he liked to give with his eyes just to get the ball rolling before the words actually left his mouth. there was no need to hide what he was after. even if he was called out on it he could always just pass it off as how he always looked around someone attractive. play the bashful fan.
he knew he could do it too. he was as sure about it as he was about anything else in the world because this was his element. this was his game - hell, he invented it. this was where he was most comfortable and when phoenix turned all of his attention onto him, he knew that meant game on. he was ready to show why he was always voted mip in this sport. "i'm sorry," he said, feigning a bit of bashfulness, willing a blush to his cheeks. "i should have introduced myself first, i just..." he looked up at him under those naturally long lashes of his. "couldn't help it." he bit down on his lower lip, turning more in toward him so that their knees touched again and said, "i'm nolan. i came here with a friend who owed me a favor." he chuckled lightly. "sort of good luck on my part."

The more he looked at Nolan the more attractive he had to admit he found the guy. Hell the guy was down right hot, and he found himself responding to that quite easily. It wasn't that often that he found someone who appealed to him in this way, especially since most guys didn't tend to announce to him that they were gay, or at the very least bi, to him the way this guy so clearly just had. After all, straight guys didn't call other guys beautiful, it just wasn't common, well with the exception of a few model talent scouts who'd just call anyone beautiful if they thought there might a way they'd model for them. His supposedly being straight had been the cause of it being a bit difficult for him to find someone even for just a one night stand. After all, it wouldn't do for him to get caught sneaking off with a guy, that would ruin his manager's insistence that he should be straight and seemingly available for the female fans.
This fact meant that it's been a long time since he'd been intimate with anyone, be it just for the sake of sleeping with them or for the sake of something more. Not that he had much time for something more, or that he was really looking for it at the time, no what would be best for him at his point would probably be just a one night stand or so, but at the same time he really wasn't a big fan of that. He preferred it to be more than that whenever he slept with someone, but he supposed he wasn't in a position to be overly picky, especially considering the fact that he was getting tired of having to deal with stuff on his own accord, it just wasn't the same. Sure, he could rent someone to take care of it, but fact was that people at places like that weren't known for being the most discreet especially if the price for the information was high enough. So he'd kept himself from doing stupid things like that, besides, it seemed... wrong. No, better to go out and get himself an honest one night stand, at least then it wasn't something he'd have to pay for.
The thought had a slight flush going to his cheeks, not enough to be a blush though, just a slight shift in color. A laugh escaped him at the apology he was getting, somehow though he had this feeling this guy wasn't really someone who blushed naturally too often. Something about the way he'd noticed their knees brushing every so often even before he'd spoken and the way he was seeming to purposefully be doing that right now. No, this guy was probably not as innocent as he was claiming to be, but he'd go along with it for now. "Actually I was going to thank you, because you saved me from a really boring work conversation." he stated, making sure to keep his cool even though his under-satisfied body was clearly letting him know that this guy was interesting for more than the reason that he'd saved him from work conversations when he was supposed to be having a party.
"Nice to meet you Nolan, I'm Nix, but my guess is, that since you're here and you knew it was my birthday party, then you already knew that fact" he said in an amused tone. It wasn't him being conceited or anything like that, it was just face. People who had shown up to this party knew why they were here and who he was. It wasn't something they'd possibly could have avoided knowing since there was a list of guests at the door, including the plus one, and they had been forced to go through showing their id at the door to prove they were who they said they were. Most of the guests of course got through because the doorman knew who they were by looks, but the plus one's that hadn't been part of the celebrity crowd would have had to show who they were, it was just part of life really. "Well I hope you've enjoyed the party so far then, if it was worth calling in a favor for?" he asked, trying to just keep up the light conversation.
He was also trying to avoid showing just how much this guy was appealing to him, though somehow there was a look in his eyes that betrayed him. If it really was so that this guy was interested in more than conversation it was probably obvious enough to him that Nix was getting to the point of being interested in that too. Sure, alcohol could be blamed, but he hadn't had that much, he did have a bit of a buzz but not enough to seriously affect his judgment. Maybe this guy was just after getting a story and leaking it to the press but if he was going to think that about everyone, then he'd have no one left to talk to. Even some of the celebrities would sell scandals to the press when it was about someone other than themselves. It was really quite exhausting to figure out who were your real friends and who weren't. It had been over a month since he'd last slept with someone though and at this point he really just didn't care, his manager would just spin it in a way to make it look like some crazy fan was spreading lies if it got out anyway.

maybe he played off the bashful thing too quickly. no, he knew he played off the bashful thing too quickly. but fuck it - if phoenix said anything about it he would just play it off that he got a sudden bold streak due to alcohol that he found much more intimidating once he actually got caught. it was a plausible story, right? fan dreams of walking up to the phoenix walton, gets drunk to get bold, gets bold, gets the raised eyebrow and the "who are you?" and suddenly thinks about why this was a good idea and what the actual fuck they were doing. yeah. he could make it work. it was all a matter of finding out what angle he was going from here, which one was actually going to appeal to phoenix more. it was just going to take a little toying to see which he actually preferred but honestly nolan didn't want to waste any time. with famous people, attention was fickle. he would only have nix's for so long and hell if he was going to let him look away.
though apparently his slip in his act didn't even phase the actual paid actor here, so he either was very stupid and didn't catch it or he just didn't give a shit. honestly he was hoping for the latter because apathy toward whatever act nolan put up was a good sign in this case. it meant that phoenix definitely wasn't paying attention because of whatever small talk the young bennett was going to be tossing his way but for something else entirely and nolan had never been so happy for gossip magazines talking about speculations on nix's sexuality before in his life. because he might not have tried this had he not had the slightest suspicion that the man sitting in front of him was gay, gay, gay gaytitty gay gay. or at least half-way. and bagging an actor...well that was a solid 100 points in his game now wasn't it? and he liked to keep moving up that scoreboard.
with the way that phoenix was looking at him, it felt like he was going to be doing just that too. small though conversation was, the moment that nolan looked up into those beautiful blues of his, he knew exactly why phoenix didn't care that he was chatting up someone else's plus one. he figured celebrities led interesting sex lives and hell with the amount of groupies and shit that even actors were sure to have, he wouldn't blame them for bagging one or two or ten every once in a while. if he was famous (which, god forbid) he knew that would be the only real perk. he liked to be sneaky to lurk in the shadows. even if he had paparazzi, he was sure he could find a way to get fans to him who wouldn't talk, fans who were like him, fans who didn't prey on him because he was rich or famous but simply because he was pretty. just another victim. he'd need a little bit of normalcy like that if he lived the life that phoenix lived and he guessed that the man he was sitting beside felt the same. that was fine. he was more than happy to oblige.
"well i am more than happy to be a distraction," he told him with a wide grin. "seriously just feel free to use me whenever you want." he willed another blush to his cheeks and let out a small, awkward laugh. "no, wait, that did not come out right." which of course it had. and phoenix probably knew that it had especially with the look of lust that was normally kept in his eyes that he could never quite seem to be sure of. no, phoenix was free to interpret and use that statement any way he wanted against him and nolan was not going to complain. but so long as he didn't have the celebrity's invitation to go somewhere else, he was going to keep playing the innocent fan for anyone who might be eavesdropping. after all, a fan who managed to get into a celebrity party chatting up famous people? not news. a fan hitting on said celebrity and having that celebrity respond to it in any sort of light? that was news. nolan didn't want to be news. ever.
"it'd be sort of hard to forget who the man of the hour was," nolan continued as if trying to just shake his little "slip up" and he could feel the act beginning to ebb away as he got more content just talking to the dirty blonde beside him. "especially looking like you do and shit there i go again - alcohol. loose tongue." as if to emphasize this his tongue flicked out of his mouth as though to wet dry lips, making a brief appearance as he averted his eyes. maybe the act was up but fuck if he wasn't going to continue with the role. that was dedication. when he had taken a couple deep breaths as though to steady his nerves he found himself able to look back with the hint of a smile on his lips. "but it was...worth it, i mean. i mean i've mainly been people watching. crowds aren't really my thing," and that was actually the first true thing he'd said about himeslf, "but it's good for laughs. though i promise - no selling out anyone. not my thing at all."

Oh god, this was going to end up with him in a very embarrassing position very soon. The banter the other man was dishing out, hiding it behind the pretenses of a shy and slightly too drunk fan, was driving him insane. Not only was Nolan absolutely and totally hot, but this game he was playing was also helping in turning him on. It really had been way too long since he'd gotten laid and there was nothing he wanted more right then than to simply grab the guy's hand and tug him into his bedroom. Unfortunately the room was still filled with one too many people trying to get his attention and looking in their direction, so for now he'd have to play along with the act, playing the amused but uninterested actor turning down yet another overly clingy fan. Of course he had no intentions at all in actually turning the guy down, but he was planning on sneaking him into his bedroom one way or another, most likely through his room's back door leading onto a personal porch that was very well hidden behind a hedge. There was a door in that hedge though and he had every intention of telling Nolan about it.
A laugh escaped him at the second so called accidental innuendo the guy said. The laugh itself said he was just laughing it off in a friendly manner but he leaned a little closer, glancing around and lowering his voice to a whisper. "Oh I believe that came out exactly the way you meant it to." he whisper was almost a sort of purr, which if it hadn't been obvious enough before, sure as hell told the guy he was very much interested in using him the way the comment had sounded. Not that he really was the kind to use people most of the time, but there was only so much long a guy could handle going without sleeping with someone. At least it was only so long he could go without it before he was feeling more than a little frustrated about his situation. Oh sure, Phoenix wasn't the kind of person to sleep around constantly, that didn't mean he didn't have needs that demanded satisfaction.
A soft smile crossed his lips at the compliment, it may have been part of the act but that didn't mean he couldn't enjoy it. "Oh I'm not that different from anyone else, just someone who's been lucky enough to be noticed among an ocean of talented people." he said, which really wasn't part of an act. He knew his skills were good, but that didn't mean he wasn't grateful for the fact that his talents had been discovered. It had been something his family had greatly needed and his family was where a great portion of his money went. That and various good causes. Not that he didn't have more than enough for himself, his house showed that he clearly did and so did the amount of money spent on this one party, it was just that he wasn't so worried about the amount of money he had as long as he had enough to get by. Again his voice dropped to a barely audible purr. "Though you're not bad looking yourself"
Maybe he was being a bit more bold than he should have considering there were still a few of his invited reporters around, but honestly none of them seemed to be paying him much attention at the moment, and to most people it would just look like they were idly talking. Even so though, he made sure that their knees kept touching through the whole conversation, and he also made sure to let it be more than obviously known by looking in his eyes that he was interested in Nolan. Hell if he didn't find a way to get the guy and himself out of here soon it might be more than obvious in other parts of his body as well. His mind was playing with the images of kissing this guy and other things, and it was doing evil things to his hormone levels and threatening to do evil things to a part of him he'd rather prefer people not to notice. Well at least people who weren't Nolan, god that thought made him shift his weight slightly to get more comfortable.
Another laugh escaped him. "You might find this hard to believe, but I'm not that big of a fan of crowds myself." he admitted, and let out a soft sigh. "Unfortunately dealing with crowds on a daily basis sort of comes with the job, and I do really like the job." he continued, a small smile on his lips said that he really did enjoy it. "Well that's good because I don't much appreciate when people sell others out." he said with a smile. Again he leaned closer and lowered his voice a little making it look like he was just trying to speak above the music do Nolan would hear it. "Alight, so I'm done playing games, IF you decide you want to do this, head out the glass doors over there and around the side to the left, there's a latch on the wall, pull it and go through. I'll be there." the whisper was hasty but clear enough. "Well regrettably I think it's time for me to retire, I'm tired and I have a set to get to in the morning." he announced loudly enough for the room to hear before sifting a little and getting to his feet, hoping that it didn't show too well just how turned on this conversation had made him, then headed in the general direction of his room.

he had him - hook, line, and sinker, he had him and god nolan had never been more relieved. he'd done long cons before, playing up his act and getting numbers and playing like he was someone else just to get laid eventually, but he was really not in the mood that day. he'd already risked his act by playing it off too quickly, had already gotten too drunk to really care, and though he supposed for the famous phoenix walton he could make an exception, he really didn't want to. he wanted to get laid then and there, he wanted the pleasure, he wanted the reward for him even trying to put on an act at all instead of doing something that would draw attention to the pair of them. especially with the way phoenix was looking at him. so he was happy; happy that he was attractive and phoenix was at least partially gay and happy, so fucking happy, that the guy was horny enough to play into everything that nolan had set up.
when nix leaned in to tell him that nolan meant what he'd said exactly the way he'd said it when it came to using him, he could feel the lustful expression in his eyes extend toward the rest of his features and he thought to himself that really, he'd let phoenix use him in whatever way he wanted. nolan very rarely let that thought get into his mind; he used people. not the other way around and it was nice to see them conform to his will, nice to see them down on their knees and asking him to please let them do this. it always amused him because it meant he won, not just in getting laid, but the entire fucking game. with phoenix, though, he didn't care who was in charge, didn't care who was giving what up for whom, just as long as they got contact, just as long as he was able to press his lips to that man's lips, his body, whatever phoenix opened up to him. he wanted sex - if he had to take control, fine, but it seemed like phoenix was doing a fine job on his own. and that was fine too.
he even pulled a compliment out of the man about his own appearance and god there was nothing greater than celebrities who didn't give a fuck. honestly, nolan had done local celebrity acts, state celebrities, even touring celebrities in bands and the like, but national celebrities - hell if he knew they'd be as easy as the rest of them, he would have made this decision a long, long time ago. nothing pleased him more than landing a person with status and getting away with it because honestly? flying below the radar and knowing he was going unseen made nolan feel as invincible as he always did and nothing brought him more pleasure. he loved his life, loved the way he lived and the way that his plans always worked out and whenever something played into this world he had crafted so perfectly...well, there was no greater satisfaction.
he hated to spoil it with conversation though which was why he just gave phoenix a little knowing smile when he said that he, too, hated crowds. that was something that he felt a lot of people could relate to, even if they didn't want to admit it out loud. it was just never fun, having a thousand eyes on you at once and as an attractive guy who sort of commanded attention from people of all genders, nolan understood. it must be worse to be phoenix - to have to put up with it. if it were him, he'd probably break down and cry though he'd never admit it out loud and he thought to himself that that was one good thing phoenix was getting out of this - someone who understood and was willing to give him a night of relaxation, of careless sex and then walk off so that nix never had to bother with him again. he knew if he were in the other man's place, that would be the only thing he'd want. carefree, relaxation sex.
and then...god, it was almost too good. he couldn't stop the smirk from settling on his lips at phoenix's words and he reached out to give his knee a reassuring squeeze before phoenix rose, as if ensuring that he'd be there. he waited for the star to exit the room before looking around awkwardly and wandering off as though looking to see where his date had gone off to, even pausing to ask some guests if they'd seen her just to give off the illusion better. he thanked them politely for their information before walking off and following phoenix's instructions. as he pulled on the latch (seriously? the guy had a secret escape route?) he couldn't help but think that this went smoothly than he ever would have dreamed. when he finally entered a room he was pleased to find that phoenix had indeed led him right to the bedroom. perfect. a smirk came on his features as he stuck his hands into the pockets of his suit pants and said, "so do you treat all your guests this way or just the exceptionally pretty ones?" before walking up and removing one hand to slide an arm around phoenix's waist.
