If Cain were to be honest with himself about how he thought seeing Olivia was going to go, he would say that he really had expected a lecture. Something that wasn't her just being all kinds of the sweet girl that he had known, because, well, sometimes Cain deserved to be lectured and he knew that all too well. Olivia had been good to him, and if he were to be honest when they'd first gotten together he'd thought that she was just dating him for the thrill of getting the bad boy. The thrill of having the boy that no one else could seem to get a hold of -not that many had tried- and when she had gotten him though, it had been so much more than he'd expected.
Cain supposed that's why he'd liked her so much back then, and even just as much now. Olivia was full of surprises, she always had been. She was a sweetheart, but there was a fire to her that he never felt he could tame. And though she had always played herself off to be that ditsy girl in high school, he'd known better. He'd always known better. People wore masks and that was all that there was to it. He himself hadn't been much different back then. And maybe he hadn't changed all that much when it came to terms of putting on a front when he was around the general public. It was simple, though, he was protective of himself.
His mind wandered to all the ways that he had possibly been bad to her back then. And, as was probably no shocker to anyone, most of those ways revolved around Jagger. Who really, was the main person in his life no matter who came in and out of it. And even if this were to become some kind of relationship again with Olivia, Jagger would always come first. Because that was just how it was with Cain. It's how it would always be. And in all truth of the matter Jagger had been the reason for so many of his relationships or non-relationships ending because Cain would always pick that best friend of his over a girl. Bros before hoes, or whatever the fuck.
He wasn't going to think of Jagger right then, though, not when he was spending time with Olivia. Not when she was giving him those looks that he knew all too well. No, he would push Jagger from his thoughts, push away all the things that his best friend had said about this date, and just be with her. Fully. Which wasn't always something that he'd done very well the first time that they'd tried this.
A chuckle came from the man and he shook his head. "Oh yeah, my life could make a sitcom don't you know?" he said in jovial tones that dimpled smile staying on his face. Cain took a drink off of his beer as he listened to her talk about his day and he nodded a bit. Only seemed right that she would end up in the fashion industry. She always had been dressed better than any girl he'd ever known when she decided to dress up, and it fit her better than any other career path he could think of. "Well, busy isn't always bad. I know sometimes we get swamped at the shop but it sure as hell beats just sitting around." Which was the truth.
His blues turned softer as he waited for an answer to his second question, and really, he hadn't been expecting the one that had come from her lips. Not that he was disappointed by it at all. How could he be? Here he was rekindling this old flame with the only girl who had been his his life for a good period of time, and she seemed to be just as alright with it as he was. "Ah, I see," he spoke softly and then set his beer down on the bar. One of his arms moved to wrap around her small waist pulling her body towards his, and his other hand took hold of her chin angling it towards his own face. "Must be some kind of lucky bastard then," he spoke in a tone so soft that only she could hear it. Then he did what he was sure he shouldn't have done, but there was no stopping him. He pressed his lips to hers. It was a soft kiss, something innocent, just testing the waters to see if he was going to end up slapped. But there was also a sweetness to it, he really shared with only her.

[atrb=width,400] the oncoming storm The feeling that was taking over Olivia was one she had of course felt multiple times in her lifetime, well since she was sixteen. The one Cain Costello had been able to get this feeling out of her buy just a glance of his mesmerizing blue eyes, and dimpled sweet smile. Lust. Olivia was feeling lust as she looked at the man that she once and maybe still did love. Giving a small laugh the smile on her face grew and the look in her eyes she knew was becoming more lustful with each word he spoke.
Olivia could always count on Cain to make her laugh, and to make her smile; the image he portrayed to the rest of the world just wasn't the same as the one that the man showed her. Always his jolly chuckles and soft mannerism and touches had in the beginning of their previous relationship always shocked her. Even the semi-sarcastic remarks about things just made her smile. "I don't know, I'm not sure anyone would watch it but me, Kendall and Jason after watching Jagger throw fits." She was teasing him of course she was teasing, but it was true, it could become unbearable at times to be around Cain back then, and of course she was sure now still even because his best friend, that horrible mean Wilson boy was always around, throwing fits and being a fuckhead. The time that Olivia and Cain had spent together as a couple seemed to countlessly get interrupted by her boyfriends best friend. It had always been a point of argument starters with her and Cain, because sometimes she just needed to be defended against the asshole Wilson.
Taking another sip of her beer, she knew that if she drank another one she was going to be on her way to flat out drunk. It was a proven fact that the young brunette was a lightweight. Giving Cain another of her toothy smiles, Olivia listened to him, nodding occasionally. "When I have nothing to do at work, I get to play dress up she gave a small laughs, taking one more sip of her beer before setting it down on the counter looking up at her ex, and if things went well, she hoped future one as well even if they did look funny together, with Olivia always dressed up and Cain while dressed up more than she remembered his normal being, a dark jeans and t-shirt sort of guy.
When she had said that the beautiful man had stolen her heart was in front of her, she wasn't lying. Just a simple hello from him or a smile was enough for him to intentionally or not take her heart and keep it in his pocket again, so much had been her first with this man and seeing him her heart had been stolen again. She wasn't expecting what he did next, but as his arm wrapped around her waist, hers went straight to his chest, resting right below where she knew the scars of his past were, the ones she was so fascinated with all those years ago. Smiling, the world stopped in its rotation as Olivia's eyes met with Cains, seeing the light in them, her lips turned upwards into a smile as his lips moved closer pressing against hers. Fireworks were going off inside her the explosion of emotions new and old were almost to much to bear. "I'm the lucky one" She spoke back in a whisper running her thumb across the scar she was closest to. It had always been what they said to each other, he was say he was the lucky one and she would say she was luckier. Olivia had to work for him when she had wanted him, and she finally after weeks of chasing him had gotten him. She was lucky to be one of the few that got to see the Cain Costello that very few got to. He had kissed her, and it felt like the millions of other kisses they had shared back in their youth. She didn't want to be his again, she needed it now.
Looking at how he had changed ascetically, she was tuning out the rest of the world, and paying attention only to the man standing in front of her. When she had looked at him the first time upon walking into the bar, she had noticed the tattoos on his arms, something that were not there back when they had dated in high school, She was fascinated by them. Of course he would have them, he was a tattoo artist; Multiple times she had wanted to walk into his shop and ask him to give her a tattoo, but had always chickened out because of the feared awkward tension she had anticipated. There were so many things about him she loved, his unique to him appearance and the extreme opposite of her that he was, and how she loved that no matter how different they were, that they just fit together like a puzzle. Tempted to kiss the man again, she refrained for a moment, pulling away and finishing off her beer, she ordered another before turning to look up at him. "I forgot how well our opposites attracted" She laughed and smiled at him deciding then to move her position so that she was standing next to him, wrapping arm around his torso and leaning into his side.

Sometimes, apparently like right in that moment, Cain realized how nice it was to be around someone that already knew how he was. It wasn't like he went around letting people just believe that he was some hard man that couldn't be friendly or shit like that. People just assumed it. By his attire, or his tattoos, or the way that he didn't smile unless he had a reason to do such a thing. Which really wasn't that often unless he was already around someone that he knew. Like in that moment, being around Olivia. It was easy to smile, to laugh, to make jokes like he was always known to do. Hell, when he was around Jagger he was almost always smiling. He was a much happier person than most people wrote him off as, and he was more than alright with that. He was also more than a little alright with being around Olivia, because here she was, a girl that already knew how he really was, so he didn't have to deal with the shock that most women had.
A warm chuckle left the man and then he gave her a pointed look before taking another pull off of his beer. "Now, now, Olivia, I don't know what you're talking about. I'm pretty sure that everyone would love to watch a show about me. I'm one interesting son of a bitch." At least he liked to think so. And really the people that met him were always telling him how he was such a character and whatever the fuck. Then the subject of Jagger came up and he couldn't help but notice the look of hate in her eyes. It seemed that it didn't matter how many years went by, Olivia and Jagger would never get along. Cain was more than a little used to it when it well and came down to it. He almost wanted to let her know that just because some time had gone by it didn't mean that he suddenly wasn't going to be the same when it came to Jagger, but the man felt that it was best not to ruin the good time that they were having.
Especially not when that first kiss was shared. If he were to be perfectly honest with himself, he would say that he hadn't really expected for things to move into kissing. At all really, but most especially not so soon int he night. She was giving him those vibes though, and he wasn't an idiot, he wasn't about to ignore them like he didn't know that she was just as interested in kissing him as he was in kissing her too. It also seemed that she was interested in more than kissing, at least that was what her eyes were saying, and Cain wasn't about to turn it down. He really wasn't an idiot, no matter how much that best friend of his would like to say that he was. Cain smiled against her lips when she pulled away from the kiss at her words. It really was nice to have her back in his life, even if it ended up being only for the night. He had a feeling though, that this was not going to be a one night stand, but instead the start of a new relationship for the two of them. "We're both lucky," he spoke softly before pressing another small kiss to her pout.
When she moved to stand at his side, he kept one of his arms around her keeping her tight against his side, so that he could still feel her curves against him. He finished his own beer and then ordered another one when she did, his eyes moving to look at her with that lopsided grin. "We always did match together pretty well," he spoke in a sweet tone and then kissed her again. "You wanna get out of here? It's so loud, and really, I just want to be with you. Not all these other people."

[atrb=width,400] the oncoming storm
"I think you're right" and he was right, they were both very lucky to have been in the position they were in. Olivia was willing to forget the past and its problems and just focus on the now and future that they hopefully were in the right direction to have. There was no way to be one hundred percent sure that Cain was interested in the same long term effects this night was capable of bringing the two old lovers. Olivia wanted more than anything to be loved like she had in the past by the man that was once more kissing her, but she knew that even though this night was sure to come to an end in one of their beds, she wasn't sure that she would be able to handle a one night stand with Cain; she would hurt to much afterwards for that to happen. If she was going to let him into her life again he was going to have to be willing to stay for a good while.
Her tiny body felt so perfect next to his, the curve of her side fitting like the correct piece of a puzzle in with his side. When Cain’s arm was around Olivia it felt like not a thing in the world could hurt her, and she liked that. The more she was thinking about it the more she realized how much she really needed a relationship with a man. Sure she had been on dates or had men that were interested in her, but she just couldn’t seem to find the right one, perhaps this, whatever this was going to become was what she had been looking for; something familiar and comfortable. Olivia’s fingers trailed along Cain’s sides as she listened to him speak, smiling she stole his beer from him taking a sip before handing it back to him; she grinned up at the man with a grin she only used on him. ”I can’t think of anything I want more right now” almost whispering as she looked into the beautiful blue eyes that were looking down into her own. That third kiss… not the second not the fourth, but the third; what is it they say, third time’s a charm? Olivia knew that no matter what she was hooked again on this oh so addicting drug known to her as Cain Costello. That kiss they shared was more passionate than the last two, and she just prayed as she moved away from him, finishing off her own beer that the remainder of the lip locks they would share that night would just continue to grow in the passion.
Where they were going to go was a mystery to the young brunette, she wasn’t sure where Cain even lived now, was it with the Wilsons still she wondered, probably not, with Jagger, probably. Either situation was going to be uncomfortable for her seeing as the majority of the Wilsons, although the only family Cain really had, were not really members of the Olivia Conway fan club. Of course Olivia’s family hadn’t all been the biggest fans of Cain either when Olivia and him were dating, but at least just Atty was the one that didn’t like her boyfriend, and as scary seeming and completely opposite than the type of guy olive probably should have gone for, her parents once they met him loved the dark haired blue eyed boy that their daughter was so crazy about. They of course could go to her apartment, the only other living thing there was her petite black cat penny, but did she really want to let him into her home this soon? It was a question she quickly dismissed. ”why don’t we head back to my apartment.” she spoke in her sweet yet assertive voice leaning up and giving the man infront of her just one more kiss. ”There’s no one else there, so it can just be the two of us.” resting a hand on his chest she smiled that smile she had always saved just for Cain Costello, looking up at him with her big brown eyes.

A chuckle passed the man's lips and that dimpled smile stayed on his lips as he looked at her. "I'm always right, or have you forgotten?" he said teasingly before pressing a kiss to her forehead. It was easy to just, be himself around Olivia. Maybe it was because she'd broken down those walls when they were younger. That had to be what it was, he was sure. There really wasn't much other explanation for why he found himself so easily falling into step for her. Part of him couldn't help but wonder if this was all being created from nostalgia. The truth of the matter was that they could barely know each other anymore. He refused to think of that in that moment though, no, she was far too close and he was far too aware of what that gleam in her eyes meant. This was no time to be introspecting.
He couldn't help but let his mind wander though. Was this what he wanted? Was this was he was signing up for? A relationship with Olivia again. In all truth of the matter he hadn't expected it to go like this. The last thing that he'd expected was for her to come here and be so willing to just let him back into her life like this. It was, well, it was a bit shocking to Cain. Not that he was going to complain because, well, fuck, besides Jagger Olivia had been the longest relationship that he'd had in his entire life. She was a good girlfriend to him. And he couldn't for the life of him remember why really they had broken up. His guess was that it had a lot to do with Jagger and far his head was up his best friend's ass at that point in his life. Not that it wasn't still well and shoved up there, but that was beside the point. He figured that he might be able to do it now, be good to her, and good for her, and so much better than he'd been before.
The smile that painted his lips transformed into something that was far more playful than the broad grin that had taken over his pout before. "Me either," he spoke in a half whisper. And really there wasn't anything that he could think he'd rather be doing in that moment. For the first time in a long time his focus was totally on something that wasn't his best friend which was a shocking thing in and of itself. He wasn't going to let his mind go there either, even if he had Jagger at the back of his mind, that little voice that was like a conscience, but more like an annoyance, saying how this was such a stupid idea.
The man finished off his beer before tossing some cash on the bar to pay for not only his beer but Olivia's as well and he moved so that his arm could settle more around her shoulders than around her. He was about to suggest that they go back to his place, not the room that he still had at the Wilson's but instead the apartment that was occupied by only him, but then she made the suggestion for her place. "Sounds good to me. Though, there's no one at my place either. So whatever works for you works for me," he spoke in those soft tones leading her towards the door and keeping her close to his side.
