we've made it through another month! woohoo! for starters, i'd like to thank everyone of you who have stuck around through the ups and downs of our site, because we all know we've had quite a few. however, there's a couple of things i'd like to bring to your attention.
- KEEP PLOTTING. just because you have a plot page, don't think that you don't have to post on anyone else plotter! we've had a couple of complaints from members about not having enough plots or as many as they'd like. we understand and we'd like to change that! try to post on everyone's plot page and i mean everyone's, even if they've already posted on yours. try to stay updated with your plots, too. post on shippers more than once and do it often as well! if you do not yet have a plot page, get one up! none of this is optional.
- GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER. it's kind of boring when a site has cliques. don't just talk to one or two people. don't only be 'friends' with one or two people. be friends and talk with everyone, because that keeps us functioning as a family. get each others screen names on aim or tumblrs. talk! it prevents anyone from feeling left out or unwelcome. believe me, i know that feeling! try to thread and plot with everyone, not just specific people. don't pull the 'i can't think of anything' excuse. trust me, you can think of something, because something is better than nothing.
- BE NICE. i know, kindergarten stuff. we don't have too big of an issue here, but to keep the site going strong, we want to make sure we never will. basically, if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all. joking and whatnot is one thing, but actually meaning something... well, mean, acting like a smartass, being rude, ect. will not fly with us. feelings do matter!
- THREAD, THREAD, THREAD. don't wait for someone to ask you to thread. make an open one! not only do they keep you active, but they introduce more plots and/or characters to your characters. or, if you prefer planned ones, ask someone yourself! instant messaging threads are always fun, as well. the point? this is a role playing site and we expect you to do just that. remember, we have an open thread directory for your convenience... use it!
- USE ALL OF YOUR CHARACTERS. this kind of goes back to the plotting part of this update. if you're going to make a bunch of characters, make sure to use them all, not just one or two. plot them, thread them, do whatever you have to do to keep them active. don't create characters just because you like a playby. use them.
- LOG ONTO AND USE ALL OF YOUR ACCOUNTS. whenever you get online or log onto the site, sign into all of your accounts, not just one or two. lets face it, the more active a site looks, the more people are going to want to join. however, going back to the 'thread, thread, thread' section of this update, keep threading as well. activity matters!
