HEIGHT RANGE ellie has always been taller than her peers, however has been five feet and seven and a half inches for around ten years now. as a child she was tall and gangly, and she was the tallest in her class during kindergarten and middle school. it wasn’t until all the boys began to go through puberty that ellie stopped growing, leaving them to tower over her, despite her being taller than many of her female friends.
WEIGHT RANGE never someone who has struggled her weight, ellie fluctuates between one hundred and twenty, at her thinnest, and one hundred and thirty, at her biggest, pounds. all her life she has been able to drink and eat whatever she pleased and not have to exercise.
BODY TYPE despite no need to exercise ellie has always enjoyed long distance running and as a result her figure has stayed relatively toned with a low percentage of body fat. her body shape is generally a little bottom heavy with her having wider hips and slimmer shoulders which runs in her father’s side of the family.
HAIR naturally blonde, ellie has been dyeing her hair since she was eighteen years old. when she was very young her hair was almost white it was so blonde, however over the years it had faded to a more mousey, darker blonde which she hates. as a result she dyes her hair chocolate brown to cover up the ever so slightly dirty colour her hair naturally grows now. in addition her eyebrows have always been darker than her natural hair, leaving her newly dyed locks to blend in better with her eyebrows than her natural colour.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES as mentioned before elina’s eyes are a very strong feature of hers, however another which is often commented on is her defined cheekbones. blessed with high set bones elina has a chiselled face without much effort, however when she has lost weight, usually because of stress, her face can look almost gaunt. her cheekbones come from her mother’s side of the family, where many of tem have the same hollow looking cheekbones which are converted by many.
TATTOOS OR PIERCINGS like a large portion of women ellie has both of her ears pierced and on her right ear two cartilage piercings which she doesn’t put jewellery in anymore. her two cartilage piercings she got at twenty two, however they lasted ust over a year before she began to hate them. despite not having worn jewellery in them for over five years signs of them still remain in the form of two tiny, mole-like dots. tattoo-wise, ellie has one, however only a rare few people know about it. at eighteen, elina got a small dragon tattooed on the top of her right buttcheek, and regretted it almost instantly. however she has grown to love it as she’s got older because it reminds her of her teenage years.
FASHION SENSE/STYLE elina has always been far too focused on her career and ambitions to pay much attention to what is trendy at any given time. as a result elina often finds that she lives in her jeans more than anything else, usually throwing on some sort of vest top and a necklace or two. the only things she loves as far as style is concerned is high heels, which she has been obsessed with since childhood, and fancy underwear. it is rare to find elina is any sort of flat shoe, despite the rest of her appearance perhaps looking a little less put together, and she you can bet your ass that she is wear matching undies under her skinny jeans and slouchy t-shirt.

HISTORYjames and christina hadn’t planned any of their children. charlie came as a surprise and was followed by elina just three years later, leaving the pair in stressful jobs with two young children. luckily james’ mother was more than happy to look after the children whenever she could and would help christina, who suffered terribly during pregnancy. as a result the children were close to their grandmother, and it gave her a purpose. her husband had died while james was still young and she felt lonely. the grandchildren stopped that. charlie and ellie got on as must young siblings did – mostly playing well together with the occasional spat about who got the first go on the board game or who was going to be “it” when they played tig. james and christina worked hard to give their children the best upbringing they could and were saving as much money as possible to try and provide for their children’s futures. when elina was just two christina fell pregnant again, the third happy accident in the family, and flora was born. christina left her job as a midwife to look after the children full time at least until flora was old enough for kindergarten, charlie having already began to attend and with elina following in quick succession.
charlie and elina loved their new baby sister to begin with, always wanting to hold her and play with her, however the novelty quickly wore off. until flora began walking and talking the other two children couldn’t have cared less about her existence – she wasn’t fun until then for them. as flora got older she began to bond more with charlie and elina, who by this point were a pretty tightly knit pair. elina breezed through elementary school without too many problems. she found a love for gym class and enjoyed being outside as much as possible, as well as a love for reading. she advanced more quickly as reading than other children and her teachers suggested that ellie’s parents might look into additional lessons in English for her, though they decided not to in the end. their wages weren’t sufficient to cover that as well as be saving for college for them all. however elina’s English teacher at the time was impressed by her efforts. mrs fletcher, ellie’s teacher, kept her behind nearly every day after school for extra tutoring, as well as giving her extra homework to help her use her enthusiasm and skill for English.
it was mrs fletcher who recommended this further when elina moved on to middle school, however in the hustle and bustle of middle school life the extra tutoring got forgotten. elina found more interest in athletics and gymnastics, joining as many clubs as she possibly could. she blossomed into an athlete and grew closer to her father in the process who was supportive of her athletic exploits, driving her to all her events and being pushing her to do better whenever her could. her attention was more focused on sports than her work, though it never suffered it was not the best she could’ve been doing. it was reiterated to her at every parents evening and her mother would harp on at her to do her homework while her father was asking her if she wanted to go for a run. she graduated from middle school with good grades, though not the excellent ones she should’ve been achieving given her intelligence, and moved onto high school. it was here she developed her interest for psychology, something she’d go on to pursue in the future, when she stumbled upon freud when reading for her English class. she became engrossed and began to read more about his studies in her own time. from freud she moved onto skinner, to harlow, to pavlov, and before she knew it she was looking at doing a psychology degree. with her interest in reading spiked once more her grades began to improve again and she put more effort into her classes. her average came up and she worked her hardest in high school to do the best she could, all while still trying to keep strong athletics up.
needless to say she didn’t have a lot of time in high school. her circle of friends was varied, though mainly filled by athletics jocks and the English nerds, and she wasn’t especially close to anyone. she didn’t have time to spend with people – if she wasn’t doing homework she was training for athletics. at the time it didn’t bother her, though looking back it upsets her slightly. she spent many of her lunchtimes in the library and all of her times after school working out in the gym or training for an up and coming event. when it came to applying for scholarship programmes and universities she only had one place on her mind: yale. ellie was not someone who accepted anything but the best of herself and she wanted so badly to attend yale and read psychology. elina managed to secure herself a sports scholarship as well as acceptance from yale but only after she worked her arse off for her finals. she was required to performed both athletically and academically once she attended and her parents were so proud of their daughter, and thankful for the scholarship. in no way would they have been able to send their daughter to yale of all places.
elina began to read psychology at yale and found herself enthralled with her lectures. she was motivated and excited to be working towards her main goal, and keen to enjoy her time at university. that was until she met gerard morris. her lecturer, she saw him all the time but couldn’t help her mind racing when she did, and found herself falling into a love affair with him. she knew she wanted him and went and got him, selfishly neglecting to remember the trauma that would be caused if they were discovered. they were, of course, and he resigned. she was left to throw herself back into her studies, mentally chastising herself for letting herself get involved with a member of staff, let alone to start feeling for them. she worked hard at university and pushed herself with her sports, falling from fling to fling trying to forget about gerard. but it was futile. she ended up graduating and moving back home to find a job, still with him in the back of her mind reminding her of the past. being at home she managed to secure herself a job as a journalist, starting off writing small articles for the local paper before slowly moving up the chain.
she managed to move out and move up the chain in her newspaper before moving to another, bigger newspaper. she wrote articles about current affairs and was heavily involved in writing about political movements and the current political climate. that was until her brother called. he needed a new roommate, his was getting married, and she was interested. as soon as she asked she agreed and called up her job to tell them she quit, she had to move to Hartford. some questioned her enthusiasm to up sticks and move across the country to save her brother. some called it selflessness, while others called her crazy, but these were all people who knew nothing of gerard. after her left yale he’d moved to the university of Hartford, where her brother lived. she wasn’t happy in new york, she wasn’t happy at her paper. this was the opportunity she’d been waiting for to chase her past and save the only thing she’d enjoyed in a long time.

PERSONALITY elina is bright, and she always has been. as a child she was naturally inquisitive about life and asked many questions which had a tendency to irritate her family as it was a constant stream of “why?” and “how?”. she has always wanted to learn and to know everything, which has helped her develop into the highly intelligent woman she is. her love of reading has only blossomed over the years and she still reads at a fast pace, always with a book somewhere on her person. it is a running joke in her family now that she is a bookworm and would life her life through books if she could, and although she tends to laugh it off it is probably true. likewise elina is an avid writer having worked in journalism for two years and enjoys writing her own short stories, although these remain stored on her hard drive unread by any other eyes but her own. her love of writing does not apply to her work however as although she enjoys reading about politics and current events she detests having to write about them. alas jobs are hard to come by and she seems to be good at that, so it is something she fell into and worked extremely hard to move up the chain.
wit and a sense of humour are attributes ellie holds highly and expects in everyone she meets. she is dry and sarcastic, often cutting and sharp when insulted or offended. she has always been a funny girl and it has developed from a slightly immature sense of humour in her early high school years to a smart and cutting wit which people beyond her years enjoy. el enjoys poking fun at people and generally giving them a hard time, though she does it in good humour. occasionally sensitive souls get hurt by her remarks, and she will always apologise if she feels she has done wrong, though she frequently forgets that not everyone has been brought up with an incredibly dry father and a mother who could cut diamonds with her words when she is provoked. her family is not one that takes words too seriously and they give each other a hard time with their jokes so often that ellie forgets it is not necessarily something everyone enjoys.
ellie has always been driven and ambitious, even in her job which she fell into, and she has always tried her absolute best in all of her endeavours. as a result it meant she struggled to have close friends throughout high school as she was constantly working hard to maintain a 4.0 GPA as well as a high level of athletic ability and fitness. hardworking is an attribute which applies to a large percentage of her family and something she learnt from her parents who worked hard to make sure their children had the best childhood possible, as well as to save money for their college education which they expected their children to have. furthermore her parents taught her to stick to her promises and commitments. there were many times in her high school and college education when she wanted to stop athletics, or to drop out, but her parents attitudes motivated her to continue trying her best and to know that it would pass if she continued.
headstrong and stubborn are words that describe ellie perfectly. once she sets her mind to something she will do everything in her power to get it, regardless of others around her, and she will not settle until she has whatever it is. this applies to all manner of things, from her career to a pair of shoes to that special someone. furthermore she has trouble accepting when she is wrong. she hates the feeling she gets when she is incorrect and as a result does her upmost to know everything she can to avoid those situations. she is stubborn in her decisions and is a firm believer that her way is the right way, though this is something she does her best not to do, it sometimes happens without her realising she is being so inflexible. however it is these traits that have supported her journalism and helped her reach the place she is now, as well as helped her make the bold move to hertford from mcclusky. these traits, on the other hand, have resulted in many disagreements, although with academics it was usually positive it has caused her problems with her peers, who generally do not appreciate her forward approach.
Elina didn’t mind most of her duties as a teacher. If anything, she loved most of them, but one she hated was having to patrol the corridors with the prefects every once in a while. It wasn’t often (thank god), but she hated it nonetheless. Elina liked her sleep and if she couldn’t sleep she didn’t want to be wandering around the corridors. No, if she couldn’t sleep she’d go out and into the grounds, or into the kitchen to visit the elves, not to walk around telling smelly third year boys off for trying to sneak out of their beds. She sighed as she lifted her wand, “Lumos”, she voice rang softly as she began to walk down the steps of the tower and onto the seventh floor. For this day at least, that’s where she’d be patrolling. She made a mental plea that there would be no drama that evening and not a single person would be being mischievous, but she knew better. Not every single night but a large portion of them at least one student left their bed, even if they were sleep walking. The sound of heels was the only thing to be heard as she tiptoed down the stars, moving slowly and gracefully as her skirt swished beside her. Her left arm was outstretched, the brightness of her wand leading her way. Some pictures stirred, cursing at her for waking them as she giggled and offered her sincerest apologies. She truly hated the duty, but she knew it had to be done, she could make it up to the picture later if she really needed to.
Her right arm was wrapped around her small waist, keeping her warm in the castle which was freezing. She’d not felt such a cold in a long time and she mentally chastised herself for not putting on a pair of socks or more layers. She’d just kept her clothes on all day, something else she hated about the duty. After dinner Elina would find herself relaxing until around nine thirty when she’d don her pyjamas and get comfortable until she nodded off a few hours later. When she had to patrol pyjamas were not an option and she was forced to keep her restrictive teaching clothes on. As much as she loved them, and they had almost become her casual clothes too, she didn’t half miss her slippers and pyjamas while she stalked the seventh floor. Sighing a little she stopped walking as she reached a window, it’s slim lines letting the moonlight seep in. Staring out of it she stopped the lumos charm and pushed her wand up her sleeve, studying the grounds below with a soft smile. She wanted to get outside and feel the breeze but knew she couldn’t- not tonight at least. Whilst daydreaming about flying through the wind tomorrow evening she heard footsteps, and smirked, turning on her heel and standing deadly still in the dark. She didn’t like to tell people off too much, but she had to do her job.. and a small part of her hoped it’d be an arrogant young man who she could knock down a peg or two, though she’d have never admitted it.
As the footsteps got closer Elina scanned the corridor for their owner, her eyes wide as she lurked beside the window in the darkness. She pulled her wand from her sleeve and held it at her side, pushing her hair back off her face with her spare hand. As the footsteps reached her she stepped out in front of them, her wand lighting up as she did. A smirk pulled at the corners of her lips and she raised an eyebrow, her right hand balancing on her hip as she stood in front of the culprit. “Don’t you think it’s past your bedtime?”, she asked them cockily, her face not twitching from its confident expression. She wasn’t about to start handing out detentions, it wasn’t her style, but at least she’d get to have a very brief conversation while she walked them back to their respective house dormitory. Her stance and face gave off an air of amusement in her duty, though the opposite was really true. This just made her night ever so slightly more interesting.[/jusify]
