SITE GUIDELINES
hey there guys, and welcome to everybody loves a winner! before we get started, we just have a couple of ground rules that we need to cover. we know, how boring, but hey! rules are what keep society (and a great site) functioning. we have to have them. proboards has also cracked down on their terms of service, so to prevent getting shut down for a silly mistake, we've made our own terms of service. it's easy to follow and it's the best way to avoid being suspended and/or deleted.
- let's start with the matter of activity. we've worked hard on this site, and we don't want you to join just to have an account collecting dust in the corner. it's also not fair for you to hog play bys, so please, please, please stay active! try to log into your account(s) every time you get on online. we'll have activity checks every month or so, though, just to clean out inactive accounts.
- now that you have made the decision to be an active member of our site, when you register, you can join as whatever you want. after you've logged into your account, though, please change your display name to your character's first middle last name in all lowercase. it makes the site look a lot nicer and a lot neater.
- do not hog the cbox! don't invite a member to go in with you and just completely ignore everyone else that comes in. it's rude. unless plotting directly involves characters not talking or your character is just going to cause problems by talking to another, it's not cool to ignore people and it's not cool to just completely take over when you enter the cbox. play nicely. i hate to have to say this but it's been such a problem that it's a rule that's absolutely essential.
- you've made an account, so what do you do now? make yourself a signature. actually, you can do this later but we prefer that you have it made when you submit your application. avatars are 100x100, for the plain fact that we don't want to risk stretching the board. signatures should be no more than 520px. height can be anything that isn't larger than 600px.
- regarding signatures and other graphics, don't put anything inappropriate in them. that's an easy way to get our site deleted. that's not going to happen after all our hard work, so no boobies or dicks popping out.
- so you've got accepted and now you wanna start the action. make a shipper, use the communication board, but most of all, make some actual threads to role play in. after all, this is a role playing site and not a chat play! we want you to make a post or two in an actual thread at least once a week. this can be difficult after you've first joined, but after you've created plots and met our members, then it should be simple.
- this is a matter of attitude. be nice. be polite. be respectful. we aren't saying you can't be sarcastic and joke around with each other as hannah and i are the worst perpetrators of such jokes, but let's get real here. we don't want any drama. when we roleplay, it's like having a family. if you're going to go and accuse other people of being mean and throw a hissy fit because you don't get what you want, we're going to ask you to leave. we have a zero tolerance drama rule (out of character drama, of course, in character, go at it). just treat others the way that you want to be treated and we won't run into any problems, okay?
- don't be nasty. when i say don't be nasty, i mean don't be having full on sex scenes on our boards. paige, renee, and i get in trouble when you do! we get nice little warnings from proboards and after more of those lovely little messages, we get deleted. none of us want that, so please avoid mature content on any of our boards. fade to black or something, but nothing graphic. this includes intense drug usage in scenes as well.
