MILES ALASTAIR DARCY

twenty six, bartender, addict, single, obnoxious

miles darcy is an obnoxious loudmouth with a taste for life on the wild side. a regular abuser of drugs and alcohol, he struggles to maintain his temper as much as his sobriety. when he's not throwing fits in a drunken stupor, however, he can be a totally sweet, if not slightly cynical, guy who's playful and endearing. he tries his hardest to be a good guy, but it just doesn't come as easily to him as it does to others; and he doesn't really want to stop with the booze, so it's not likely to happen very soon.

his friends should either be the kinds of people who accept him exactly as he is, without judgement, and are usually the ones who will go with him to party or supply him with the means to do so; or, they can be the kinds of people who are dreadfully concerned for his current state of living and want him to be better. really, it can go either way, and i'm welcoming all sorts of friendship plot ideas because it's generally open.

miles will have a surplus of enemies, of course, because he turns into a loudmouth jerk that picks fights whenever he feels like it. he's got a terribly short temper, and so obviously there are a few people that won't like his nasty attitude. probably, these enemies will have met miles while he was drunk and then seen him later on, when he's already decided how much he dislikes them and everything.

as for lovers, he can be pretty stingy with love. he's homosexual, and sort of holding out for a labelle as far as finals go. one night stands, flirts, and otherwise are open as well, though. c;

ADELHEID LIESL AUSTERLITZ

nineteen, student/waitress, single mother, sweet, flighty

here we have ms heidi austerlitz. she's many things - a student majoring in english and minoring in education, a single mom, the oldest sister of four girls - but most importantly she is sweet. she can be flighty and indecisive and impulsive, but most of all she is endearing and loving, and entirely loyal to those she cares about to the end. she struggles to provide a good life for herself and her daughter, but her fierce independence keeps her going and she's managed to establish a good life for the two of them.

friends will, of course, always be welcome. she will take all of the love and support she can get, and she's such a sweet girl it's kind of hard not to like her. what she really needs is one or two bffs/close friends that she can rely on to support her even when she gets frazzled and funny and really needs someone to calm her down. but i'd also like for her to have a wide circle of friends; most likely, they'll be people she goes to school with or works with. c:

enemies, however, will be a little different. heidi doesn't go out to make enemies, as she certainly doesn't have time - between school and work and odilia, she's just really swamped. but she can get irritable, and she does get offended just like anybody else, so it's always possible. really, kind of open, because i don't have many ideas for this and yeah.

as for the lovers, heidi's not really the one-night-stand or fling kind of girl. if she's going to get into a relationship, it's going to be a relationship that's going to last, because she can't afford to burn through boys like she might have done before she got pregnant. the guy (or girl, since she's pansexual) will have to be able to understand that at this point she's mostly family oriented. c:

ok well i only have leaf. leaf likes to party and he wouldn't care at all if miles does drugs and gets drunk every night, because he used to do it himself, and still does, but not quite as frequently. oh, and leaf is gay so he'd be all like 'miles, please have sex with me, THANK YOU'. well he would when he's drunk anyway. he's pretty normal when sober and would be all relaxed like 'hey man'. if miles tried to start any arguments or fights though, leaf would probably take a defensive strategy and try not to provoke him and stuff. he's pretty chill. so kinda party friends? idk

these two could be great party friends. c; i could see them getting totally wasted together and then they can flirt and miles can be like "yum you smell good" or something equally stupid when he's drunk and yeah, it'll be awesome. <3 it's good that leaf would be like chill when not drunk so that if darcy turns into a bitch it the coolness will stop him from getting to angry. and yes. c; must get these two in a thread together!

devan&miles it isn't in devan to really hate people or judge them, but he does get fed up pretty easily. so if he and miles ever were friends, i think after he saw his inability to give up his bad habits (which is hypocritical on devan's part as when he's not at work he's basically a borderline alcoholic) then he'd get a little frustrated and start drifting away from him. dev had to deal with his brother's bad past; he doesn't want to have to deal with it when it comes to his friends as well. so maybe they once were friends but drifted apart?

noah&miles noah would find him endearing. he loves the drama in life; he's positively intrigued by it and makes an effort to pay special attention to it and how different personalities react to it. he's an actor; interpreting this stuff is his passion. he's at bars often enough that he probably met miles when he was working and eventually that led to a one night thing because noah can't see a hot gay man and not sleep with him. it's like a disease. from there if he communicated with him at all, i can see it mainly being just from one side of the bar across to the other, but he would be genuinely interested in how things were going in miles' life and all that. so a one night stand and 'bar friends' i guess? lol

adaline&miles ada's at bars often enough because she's noah's designated driver but also because she's such a guarded person that when she's really not feeling well at all (such as...for the past two years) she very much likes to drink away that pain and cover it with drunken antics. she'd probably recognize miles after a little while and hear a few stories about him from noah and from there she'd make a little more effort to be kind. but honestly noah is the only gay mess she has the patience for and their relationship probably wouldn't extend past that.

kendall&miles p a r t y friends. god kendall is probably the worst influence for miles to be around because she's always like YEAH ALCOHOL, YEAH DRUGS, IT'S OKAY MAN IT'S ONLY ONE LAST TIME RIGHT? so she would probably hit him up whenever there was a party and she wasn't on call and just carry on being a terrible horrible influence.

jason&miles jason's concerned for the well-being of anyone who is even moderately close to kendall. he's really quiet when it first comes to meeting people so the first few times he saw miles he'd probably just stay quiet and run off to his room or something, but if he saw him after that, he'd probably use one of his "i only speak once a day" moments and ask him if he was okay or how things were going. he probably wouldn't talk whenever kendall was around because she tends to make a big deal whenever she hears his voice and it probably wouldn't be too often because he stammers like a pro when it comes to communication, but he'd probably just ask about him every now and then and wish him well in life.

jagger&miles they'd probably party together. kendall likes to drag jagger off on occasion claiming that he "needs to let go and have a little fun" and everything so they'd probably meet through that and then only encounter each other at parties. i think it's a little dangerous for them to meet elsewhere since when jagger isn't drunk, he's pretty much just this huge dick to absolutely everybody.

@devan: ex-friends sounds great! miles will probably have this "well who needs that guy anyway B(" sort of attitude when it comes to devan, and there could possibly be a bit of animosity between them, especially when miles gets all boisterous and obnoxious when drunk and everything.

noah everett cervantes: hahaha i can just see miles being all sorts of perplexed with noah. "what, one night is enough for you~?" |D but yes! they could hang out at the bar together and have a one-time fling and it'll be fabulous. if miles ever gets a labelle, he can talk to noah about his issues and it'll be a great bonding time.

adaline kaiya taylor: so acquaintances/new friends sound good? he'd probably only like her by association with noah. :u

kendall ilse wilson: oh yes. party friends definitely. darcy will think kendall's a pretty swell gal and they get along swimmingly, especially if she comes with him to all of the parties he likes to attend. plus she's a bad influence so it's more of a reason for him to be like "oops guess i can't give up the drugs and booze now".

jason allen wilson: darcy will probs end up picking on jason. the fact that he's so sweet and endearing will just make darcy want to make him squirm more. but it's very sweet of him to be concerned, and he'll actually be a little touched by it?

jagger owen wilson: sounds good sounds good. o; they could be like sort of friends. or something. idk. :'D

shane && miles -- Hm…for Miles I can see them being friends, or something close to that. Shane would be more of the kind of person who would just be “if he wants to drink until he passes out then fine, let him” and she’d definitely go out and party with him. Along the same lines, though, if he took things maybe a little too far, say drinking to the point of actually of passing out or getting extremely volatile, she might try to convince him to stop for the night. It’s just kind of a basic idea so feel free to add/subtract/or trash the whole damn thing.

shane && heidi -- Normally Shane doesn’t connect well with the sweet and motherly types because it’s something entirely different from how she acts, but I think the two of them could work well. Shane needs someone around her who’s can make her act a little more her age and I think just being around Heidi would do that for her, it wouldn’t even take a whole lot of work. Surprisingly, Shane is rather good with kids and she loves them, so if Heidi ever needed a babysitter or just some help around, she’d be more than willing. Kind of the same as above: it’s just a basic idea so add/subtract/trash it <3

it all sounds good to me! heidi would be eternally grateful to any of her friends that could ever babysit for her, so there's that. c; i think these two could get along swimmingly given the chance. it'll be nice for her to have a friend around that's a little more outgoing, to stop her from being in mom mode all the time. cc:

haha excellent! shannon will be that nice mix of party friend/better influence that darcy definitely needs in his life. they can be party buds, but i totally like that she'll be there to talk him down if he drinks too much and turns into a total douche.
