IN CHARACTER RULES
alright guys, we know that you love icc. however, because we have seen problems with it on other sites and we have had problems with it in the past, we do have a few ground rules when it comes to ours. they're nothing big and easy to follow, so just skim over these quickly and we'll all move on our merry ways, okay? okay.
- don't let icc take over your life. that's the main one. we don't like for our members to live in the icc. there's so much to do around the site with tumblrs and threading and posting and plotting that icc should be something minor that you do for fun. like normal chatting. you don't spend 100% of your time on aim so don't let your characters spend all day on the chat. be realistic here.
- that being said, do not roleplay in the cbox! it's not there for that - that's what the boards are for. so no actions (ex. "-hugs- i've missed you! here let me get you some tea") and no major plots here. all major events should be threaded or put into a scene - not enacted on the cbox. it's there for fun chatting, not breaking up or getting together or whatever. it's a chat; treat it as such.
- do not hog the cbox! don't invite a member to go in with you and just completely ignore everyone else that comes in. it's rude. unless plotting directly involves characters not talking or your character is just going to cause problems by talking to another, it's not cool to ignore people and it's not cool to just completely take over when you enter the cbox. play nicely. i hate to have to say this but it's been such a problem that it's a rule that's absolutely essential.
- remain active! our activity rule still stands. ic doesn't count as a thread so you still have to have one active thread a week. roleplay as well as chat, guys! it's that easy.
- if you don't abide by any of these rules, we have and will exact the right to ban you from the cbox. it's a little harsh, maybe, but sometimes you have to do that. your first violation will result in a warning. you get two warnings before being blocked for one day. if you break the rules four times, you get blocked two days and five times, three days and so on and so forth. we're serious about ic guys - don't let it become a problem. it's something everybody loves and we really don't want to take it away. but as long as you play nicely and abide by these rules, we shouldn't have a problem at all. thanks for reading! now go out and have some fun.
