there's a fire starting in my heart reaching a fever pitch and it's bringing me out the dark [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.tinypic.com/wb98wn.jpg');,true] ROLLING IN THE DEEP !
the move had been harder than he'd thought it was going to be. but not so much when it came to the means of packing up things and moving them. because really he left the majority of his things back in newport just so he would have them there when he went to visit peter. but more so because he missed his boy. he missed the little family that they'd had there. as strange as it had been from the outside looking in. they had been happy, all five of them. and watching arin go was what he thought had been the hardest thing that he'd had to do, but what turned out to be even harder, was freeing peter. of course, he still had alex, he would always have alex. but peter, he had been the pet that he'd kept for the longest amount of time.
there was a part of him, though, that just couldn't sit well with having arin out in the world without him being close in case she needed him. she had come to mean so much more to him than he'd predicted when peter had brought her home. she had been such a meek little kitten. in over her head and in a big world where she could've gotten hurt in ways that david didn't like to imagine. maybe it was the image of the girl that he had taken in burned on the inside of his eyelids that had caused him to make the move. either way, the decision had been made, he'd packed up himself and alex, and then had relocated to hartford.
finding where arin had found a home wasn't all that difficult to do given that he had known where she was going before she was even gone. he wouldn't have been david if he hadn't known after all. there was no way that his girl was going to be moving into a place that was below the standards that she deserved. he had found her an apartment before he had been alright with her leaving his keep, a place that wasn't all that flashy, but nice enough that he knew she wouldn't be making too much of a step down from what living with him in newport had been. when he had seen her not but a few weeks before he had told her that he would let her know if they were moving to hartford, but he had decided it would be better to surprise her.
they had only been in hartford for a couple days when he had gone to the store and gotten some flowers before heading over to arin's apartment. he could most certainly go up the stairs and knock on her door like most people would do, but david had something else in mind. something so much more than most men would do for a girl who was for more special than just a knock on the door and saying hey. so, it was up the fire escape that the man went, dressed in a nice button down and jeans, with a wide smile taking over his lips as he made his way up the flights to her apartment.
taking a seat half on the windowsill he rapped on the window before singing that gaelic lullaby into the glass. judging by the movement in the home he knew that she was home, but he couldn't quite judge if she was alone or not. if she wasn't, well, he was sure that she would have no problem sending someone home to give him some much needed attention. he had missed his girl, he had missed her more than words could say.

Senseless Denial, We spun like birds on fire right down towards the residence and i I took all that I desired even crooks have to pay the rent We swam like rats on fire right, right down the reservoir We took all that we could carry but we tried to carry more
arin's time back in hartford had been...interesting to say the least. she'd only been there for a little while and while people were staring to adjust to her (kendall had already accepted her back into her little family in full and jagger was as sweet and charming as always) it still wasn't really like the life she had led in newport. of course, the life she had led in newport had been something else entirely. with her boys and david, they led a life that few people actually believed existed but that she knew for a fact was always going to be a part of her world now. with 'pets' as david liked to call them and people at her beck and call and a beautiful man ready to teach her everything she needed to know about bettering a human life and taking somebody under her control. she'd had it really well with david, peter, alex, and kyle. she knew that she did. and a part of her still regretted leaving, regretted leaving it behind. but only a part of her.
the other part of her knew that she had to get away from it eventually. she had to go back to hartford. she loved newport. she loved david and she loved her boys and she loved the life that she built there but she had abandoned a life back at home in order to get that life in maine. abandoned a life with loving friends and family, a life filled with people who cared about her. and though she wanted to stay in newport forever, she knew that five years was a long time for them to go without any notice from her at all. she had to go back and she had to find jagger and through that find everyone else and then everything would be all right. then she could tell them about her life and how she'd been doing and catch up with all of them and maybe...just maybe they could try to go back to how things used to be even though she knew that cait's death turned each of them into very, very different people.
what she hadn't anticipated though upon her return to hartford was that things would be so different. even just walking into jagger's shop she knew things were up because one - jagger had a tattoo parlor in the first place and two - the people working there were paired up, two different couples. which normally wouldn't be any big deal but the fact that those two couples were jagger wilson and cain costello and then zane mercer and mickey wilson was a little...surprising. they were definitely not two pairs she ever expected to see in her lifetime, especially since to her knowledge jagger was straight and mickey was never going to find a serious relationship and that was everything that zane was about. not to mention the fact that jagger wasn't just gay, but gay for cain costello...while it wasn't necessarily a shocker or anything it was just enough to get her eyebrows to shoot up every time she saw them together.
add into that that jason wilson had a boyfriend that was extremely vocal about everything and not afraid to show off what arin had dubbed his battle scars, kendall had a steady girlfriend, there was some psycho named brad hanging around that had del up in whirls, and pretty much everyone was pairing off which she never, ever though would happen in a million years with the people that she once knew, except for maybe jagger. but even then after cait died she thought he had sworn himself to a life of solidarity or some shit. and then just the stories people had told her about what had happened through the years. jagger and cain's secret affair and the accident that brought it out. zane's kid was born and mickey was practically her father. noah once had a steady relationship. kendall was in love after an attempted fling. it was all so much to take in and then when she got around to telling her story, all it seemed to do was step on some toes and get a few people quite angry indeed.
so all in all? not all what she was expecting, though she wouldn't call any of her experience unpleasant. just unexpected. things had changed a lot on both ends of the spectrum and though there was a little clash, she was starting to settle back in with them. the only problem was that she missed her boys back in newport. she missed them a lot. so she paid them a little visit and extended the invitation to them to move to hartford and be with her again, and david told her that he'd get back to her. but so far, she hadn't heard anything and while she tried not to let it disappoint her, she really just couldn't help it. she loved hartford. she loved the wilsons and everyone connected to them. but there was a different sort of love for david and her boys and she missed having them around, for the very least for the sex and the very most for the love she had for each of every one of them, david being at the top of that list. no matter how 'creepy' it sounded to her friends.
so she wasn't expecting much when she heard the knock on her window. she had just finished doing yoga to finish up her daily work out to keep herself in the shape that she had been fortunate enough to manage to keep built up over the years and was settled down on the couch with a small bowl of mixed nuts watching some stupid reality tv show. then the knock at the window stole her attention and she quickly muted the tv. she could hear...singing. familiar, melodic singing. she furrowed her brow, kicking off her lacy slippers as she walked carefully toward the window. she could swear it was...but he hadn't called. but as soon as she looked out the window she knew her assumption was correct and a wide grin spread across her features as she pushed the window open. "what?" she asked, her tone a bit mocking despite the grin on her features. "is this supposed to be romantic?" she took in david's clothing, the flowers in his hand and shook her head, crossing her arms over her chest. "you always were such a sap, davey."

there's a fire starting in my heart reaching a fever pitch and it's bringing me out the dark [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.tinypic.com/wb98wn.jpg');,true] ROLLING IN THE DEEP !
it was quite possible that there had been a part of david that had thought that arin would never leave them. there was something that happened to people once they were part of the life style that he lived. there never really was any escaping it. there would always be that desire for it. the longing to be back into that life. david knew that he himself could never go back to living some "normal" sort of existence. he loved his life, he was happy, and much of his happiness came from knowing that those in his keep were happy. he loved his boys with all his heart. and he loved arin not necessarily more, but in a different way. peter, alex, kyle, they were his pets. his possessions. but arin, she had always been his equal. his apprentice if you will. and she as good too, maybe better than even she knew. and he had hoped that she would be with him forever. so, there had been shock in him when she had actually decided to leave. shock, and maybe a bit of heartbreak.
watching her through the window there was some sort of comfort in knowing that her life and routine hadn't become completely different from the one that she had at his home. there were some days in the beginning that she had been in training for four hours a day. sometimes more. until he was comfortable with knowing that there was no situation that she couldn't get herself out of. that no matter where she went or what she did she would be alright. he wouldn't have to worry about someone hurting her, because he trained her himself. he taught her everything that he knew. and how to use her body as a weapon. pride swelled in his chest when he realized that she had been practicing her yoga. keeping herself in shape. taking care of herself. it was good to know that some things had stuck with her.
that smile on his lips didn't stop growing when she came to the window but instead spread more fully on his lips. taking over his entire face and letting those dimples of his show. here his girl was, right in front of him, and he couldn't describe how happy was just being close to her. he knew that he should've called, but this was so much better. just surprising the girl. even if it meant her beating on him for not letting her know that he was moving before he did. arin never had been the sort of woman who was all that happy about being left out of the loop. he just had to do it this way, though.
david moved to let his legs swing inside when she opened the window and he held out the flowers for her. "yes, it's supposed to be romantic. and i never said that i wasn't a sap, darling. besides, isn't this what prince charmings are supposed to do. show up at your window with flowers and a song. singing his way into your heart?" he teased before slipping fully into the apartment. it wasn't but a few moments of being in her home before his arms moved to encase her pulling her body close to his own. he had missed her so damn much. his beautiful arin. words couldn't describe what it felt like to have her in his arms again.
"you look wonderful arin," he purred before pulling away to cup her face in his hands and kiss her deeply. when he did end the kiss he kept his face own.e to her own. "by the way, alex and i moved to hartford." which was really why he had come to her home in the first place.

Senseless Denial, We spun like birds on fire right down towards the residence and i I took all that I desired even crooks have to pay the rent We swam like rats on fire right, right down the reservoir We took all that we could carry but we tried to carry more
she was not afraid to say that she loved david. there were people around her, people that she called friends, who she knew were afraid of telling one another that they loved each other or telling people around them that they loved the person that they did, but she would never be afraid or ashamed of saying that she loved david. their relationship was far from conventional. jagger had sat there and told her a hundred thousand times that it wasn't even a relationship. it was two people who fucked who shouldn't be fucking at all, young lady, with an age difference like that. but she didn't care what anyone else had to say about it. david made her feel safe and protected and loved. he legitimately loved and cared about her, took care of her financially, supported her in every endeavor in her life. if what they had wasn't a proper relationship then she didn't ever want one. maybe she had never been officially kept by david but she wasn't ever leaving either. not that easily.
because she had planned on visiting. on having him come down and going up to see her boys. she didn't know how else she could survive, with half of her heart in maine. and she had been sincere in her invitation to have them come and live down there so that she could see them still. she loved them - they were her family and she could never be without them. they weren't conventional and people would talk and look down on them but like she gave a fuck. david was perfect. she had never met a man with so much love for everyone that everybody else in the world said didn't deserve it. he was kind and caring with a big heart, the most understanding person she had ever met and she had given herself and her body and her heart up to him willingly after everything that he had done for her. and he had taken care of her. that was something that stuck with a person and she had no regrets about her decision to stay with him. for the past five years, he had given her her life.
she took the flowers when they were extended to her, shaking her head and admiring the petals before looking back up at him with a wide grin at the mention of prince charming. she loved fairy tales. the idea of falling in love and living happily ever after...maybe it was hard to believe in but she always spoke in terms of prince charming and happily ever afters and if there was anyone in the world close enough to her prince charming, it was david harrison. she had no qualms at all with him being her happily ever after, the pair of them and alex and peter and kyle. just like in maine. it wasn't disney by any means but she could think of no better person in the world to handle her heart than him. he understood her. her needs, her views, her personality, and he accepted her for all of the things society rejected her for. he made her feel complete and while she was not ever really one for romantics, for her prince charming, she could always make an exception.
and his kiss...it hadn't been long since she'd last pressed her lips to his but every second not kissing david always felt like a second wasted. he had a way of filling her entire body with warmth with every kiss no matter how short-lived and she could feel her smile against his lips before pressing them into the kiss, foot popping slightly as she leaned against him, careful not to crush the flowers. when he pulled away, she bit down on her lower lip and grinned up at him, happy to hear what she'd wanted to hear. that he was there. he was in town. he was there whenever she needed him. "there's no need to compliment me, prince charming," she said with a laugh, "you're getting laid either way." she kissed him again briefly. "i'm happy you decided to move out here, though, david. it's not the same without you."
and she decided to leave it at that. there was no need to get super cheesy or anything after all. it wasn't her style when she had her wits about her and her clothes were on, though she did lean forward to kiss him again, happy for the feeling of his lips in the place she now called home. maybe she'd already had a taste so to speak of what hartford had to offer her, but none of it ever compared to him. he'd spent years learning what she liked and even something as simple as a kiss was just better with david. but when she pulled away something occurred to her and she furrowed her brow slightly as she looked up at him. "wait," she said, "you and alex moved out? what about the two love birds? i mean, the wilsons and shit are sassy but i assure you there is enough room in this town for both their sass and kyle's as well."

there's a fire starting in my heart reaching a fever pitch and it's bringing me out the dark [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.tinypic.com/wb98wn.jpg');,true] ROLLING IN THE DEEP !
not many women caught david's interest. this wasn't to say that he was gay, because really, he'd never put a lot of thought into his sexuality. maybe it was more that women were just, well, there weren't a lot of them that he felt could handle him. most women were more work than they were worth, and where as he could handle work, he didn't so much like to. then there was the matter of jealousy. david lived the sort of life where if he were to take a girlfriend she would have to be more open than a lot of women were. have enough self-confidence to know that even though he loved more than her he wasn't about to stop loving her as well. in college he had taken a girlfriend, and that hadn't ended very well. since then, he had simply just not held a desire for one. especially after he had met peter.
he did love women though, for their curves, for their ways, for their beauty, for their maternal nature. he loved women for what they were. but lord knew that he wouldn't dare think of having another woman in his life after he'd met arin. especially after she had become so much more to him than just a girl that he was helping. because arin was everything that he loved about a woman. she was everything that he needed in a woman he was going to share life with. and then there was always the matter of if he did indeed bring another woman into his life he was more than a little sure that arin would throw a fit over it. because, she was selfish when it came to david. and the way that he saw it, was that she had more than enough right to be. in five years she had captured his heart just as much as he knew that she had captured hers. she was wonderful, and great, and he didn't want to be without her. which was why he had decided to move to hartford.
the moment that he had her in his arms again was like completing his small world. it just wasn't right without this slip of a girl in it. there was always so much more than just a touch of lips between them, there always had been. when he kissed arin he gave her everything that he had and he didn't think that he had done it right unless he left her a little breathless. she deserved to be treated with the greatest things in the world, so he would give her everything that he had in every gesture. even a touch of hand. and if she were to ever find a prince charming, he would step aside. but lord knew that he wouldn't be happy about it. right then, it was of no concern, though. because right then, he had his arin all to himself. and he could kiss her, and hold her, and just have her all to his own.
a warm chuckle rattled vocal chords and he smiled widely at the girl before kissing her forehead. "it's like you've forgotten that i am more than happy to compliment you just to compliment you. not as a ploy to get laid," he teased that warm smile sitting well and on his lips as his fingers moved to push some of her hair out of her face. some people might dislike the person that she'd become. the way that she was forward, sexual, sometimes crass, but he loved her. for all those things. all the things that she was and wasn't. and everything between. "well, life just isn't right without my girl. i never realized how much i'd gotten used to a feminine touch around until you were gone," he teased before pecking her lips.
david was more than happy to just kiss her for hours but when she pulled away he knew by the look on her features that she had caught what he had said. that smile of his fell a bit and a sadness moved into his eyes. "yeah...just alex and i," he started simply before taking the flowers from her and then moving towards the kitchen to put them in a vase so that they would keep. "i freed peter and kyle. i thought that, well. you know those two. i'm more than a little sure that they'll be happy and take care of each other. and i trust kyle." a sigh escaped the man before he placed the flowers in the vase and then turned back to her. "i miss the hell out of them." which was the understatement of the year.

Senseless Denial, We spun like birds on fire right down towards the residence and i I took all that I desired even crooks have to pay the rent We swam like rats on fire right, right down the reservoir We took all that we could carry but we tried to carry more
in her time in maine, arin had learned a few things from and about david. for one, jealousy was stupid. she had never really felt it before in her life, not in any previous relationship, and certainly not when she was with david. she was taught that love had no limit, that it could be extended to anyone who needed it, anyone who desired it, while still keeping just as much as the people already in her heart. two, she learned that she loved david. and she loved alex and she loved kyle and she loved peter and they were all different levels of love and that was fine. she learned how to extend herself, how to break others, how to keep them close to her and how to make the most out of every relationship she tried to enter with someone. but among all the important life skills she'd picked up, she'd also learned that david really, really, really loved peter in a way that she would never be able (and would never want to be able) to intercept. so when she heard that he had been set free, her eyebrows raised drastically and she stared at the man she loved with shock etched into her features.
she should have seen it coming, though. anyone who was alone with peter and kyle for more than a few minutes could see that what they had was far different than what the pair had with everyone in the house. when peter and kyle were alone together, hands entwined as they cuddled on the couch or with kyle's arms around peter while he cooked or something just as intimate, there was no doubting that the pair were just one hundred percent besotted with one another. when kyle was hurt or punished, peter made sure to nurse him back to health, to kiss away the pain even though he knew it ruined the point of punishment. the pair had such a different dynamic...something closer to a standard love with a standard relationship than anything she'd ever seen before. when she saw peter look at kyle, she saw the same look that jagger used to have when he looked at cait. like there wasn't a more beautiful, wonderful, perfect person in the world.
so she should have seen it coming that one day the pair would just...branch out on their own. peter loved david as much as david loved peter. but his love for kyle was stronger than anything arin had ever seen before. but she knew that it pained the man standing in front of her now to have had it done. she knew how much peter meant to him, how much he cared about the boy, how much being away from him must hurt. she watched with sad, understanding eyes as he walked away from her to put the flowers in the vase, crossing her arms over her chest as she considered the idea that half of her heart was in hartford and the other half was still back in maine. regardless of what it meant to david, it was painful news to receive on her own. she loved her boys as much as david did. knowing that half of that was gone - especially the half that had been just as much hers as david's, in a way that alex had never managed, the half that taken her virginity and stretched her sexual limits far before david ever laid a hand on her - was hard to take in.
but her pain aside, she knew david had done something incredibly painful to be in town with her. she knew he had left behind a lot and even though it was hard to think about being without peter, david didn't need her sulking. he needed more of her comfort. so she stepped forward to wrap her arms around him again, saying a quiet, "come here, you," before pressing her lips to his again and leaning in close to him. she hated to see him in any sort of emotional turmoil. david was a person who, like her, felt far too deeply and fell far too quickly for people and hurt so deeply when they were absent from his side. but unlike her, he never could seem to hide it in front of her. she didn't know if that was just because of how he felt about her or just because he wasn't the type to hide his feelings, but she knew that she could survive pain alone. she couldn't imagine this man hurting without someone else there to comfort him, though. and so she ignored her own feelings in exchange for trying to calm his. show him that he made a fair exchange.
when she pulled away from the kiss she had planted on his lips, she rested her head against his chest, pulling in close to him. "i know you miss them, sweetheart," she said quietly. "i will too. but they're happier together than i've ever seen two faggots be before." she chuckled softly and looked up at him kissing him again briefly. "and you're here with me. and with alex. and they're only in maine. i say it's a fair exchange. then again, i'm a little biased."

there's a fire starting in my heart reaching a fever pitch and it's bringing me out the dark [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,10,true][atrb=style,background-image: url('http://i53.tinypic.com/wb98wn.jpg');,true] ROLLING IN THE DEEP !
when it came to those that he kept the closest to him, david didn't hold back with his emotions. he didn't try to hide what he was feeling at any given moment. he found strength in being able to freely express whatever emotion was taking him over when it took him over. the way that david saw it, if he just let something happen when it was happening instead of trying to hold it in it wouldn't end up exploding on him at a later date like it did so many people. david didn't have mental breakdowns. he didn't have crises. because when he felt something, he dove into it, and let the emotions take him over, and he let them show, because they were real. he didn't believe that being strong meant having a stiff upper lip at all points in time. the place where he saw real strength was in being able to stand up and show that he was hurting, or angry, or happy, or any emotion in between.
of course he knew those moments where he needed to suck it up and not show that he was broken in any way. he knew that there were times where he wouldn't be able to just be free with his emotions. but, this was not one of those times. he was with arin. the only woman who had ever been able to keep any part of him. more or less his partner in a way that he didn't know he would ever have. she was his equal, his queen, his happily ever after. david couldn't think of having any other woman in his life, because arin was simply perfection. she was everything that he would want or need in life, and she was the most loving woman that he had ever known. the most loyal. and with arin, he had always been honest with her. often discussing his decisions in regard to the house or the people in it. back in main they had been a partnership. the ruling duo. it just hadn't felt right without her.
and david had known if he hadn't wanted to have to pick one over the other he could've had peter and kyle come with him. and things would have been more or less the same. and he would have his family back, and everything would be right. but he saw and knew just as well as anyone else that those two were made for each other in a way that not even david had been made for peter. but leaving them, especially leaving peter who had been his companion for the better part of a decade, it was enough to cause him to want to fall to the floor in tears. because he felt like there was a part of him missing. he felt incomplete. and maybe david loved a little too deeply for his own good. and maybe when he gave a part of his heart to someone he never thought that he got it back. and peter was a huge part of him. a part, that living without, was more difficult than he had thought it was going to be. and he only could worry about how it was effecting his boy. his peter.
his mind had been running in circles when her words came to his ear and he lifted blues to look at her face that soft smile on his lips that was half-hearted, and his eyes a bit misty. his arms wrapped happily around her when she kissed him and he returned the kiss with everything that he had holding her as close as possible. because she had been his rock in a way that he hadn't ever noticed. it was hard, feeling like he had been split in two. coming to hartford to be with arin, but leaving peter behind. but her kisses, and the feel of her body so close to his, he relished in the comfort of everything that was arin. for the girl, no matter her age, had taken care of david just as much as she had taken care of every other man in their household. maybe at times she took care of him more. held his hand, massaged his shoulders, reminded him of just who he was. as she was doing right then simply with her kisses.
he let his eyes slide closed as he ran his fingers through her hair not willing to release his hold on her. that weak smile stayed on his lips and he kissed the top of her head lovingly. "i know, and i am so happy to have you back. my life really is lost with no woman to remind me of where i left my things, including my mind," he said in a simple joke before letting out a soft chuckle. david pulled away enough so that he could smile down at her face cupping her cheek and kissing her again. "i love you arin. why don't you show me the place?" he suggested before pecking her lips again.

Senseless Denial, We spun like birds on fire right down towards the residence and i I took all that I desired even crooks have to pay the rent We swam like rats on fire right, right down the reservoir We took all that we could carry but we tried to carry more
arin knew david. she knew him better than most people readily assumed when seeing the pair together. she didn't know how many times she had been given looks while walking around with him, especially since she had no problem at all with touching the man she loved in public, showing to the world just how affectionate she could be with the person who had given her back her entire world. yes, there was an age difference. but hell if she cared. david was her prince charming. he was her happily ever after and maybe it wasn't exactly a storybook ending but she didn't need a perfect fairy tale. no story was perfect and hers was no exception - it just happened to contain more men in her life than just david but none that she would ever love as deeply or as passionately. he gave her something to believe in; a future, a home when it needed it most. if that was wrong then she didn't want to be right.
so she knew. she knew that peter meant something that she could never be built up to in david's heart. she knew that if anyone was a threat to her relationship with david it was him but she simply didn't care because peter was someone she loved near as deeply as she love david. he had that effect on people. she couldn't explain it but peter formed a connection with everyone that he encountered. he charmed kyle into his heart (and bed) in a matter of seconds, got alex to follow him home without even so much as glancing in his direction, and when arin had joined the family, peter was the one who broke her out of her shell, the one who kissed her and told her that it was okay to get the feelings that she got sometimes, the one who got her to open up and branch out. and she was a much better person for it. peter was just someone who changed your life just by knowing him.
she understood why david was upset. she understood why he needed her comfort. and she understood why he changed the subject away from peter, why he didn't want to talk about it. it was painful, the same way that talking about her boys and explaining her situation to her friends had been painful because hell if she didn't miss them more and more every day that she was apart from them. she made a mental note to later ask david where they were staying, to drop by and say hello to alex and get reacquainted with the feeling of his body as much as she was going to get reacquainted with david tonight. that was something that she had counted on being the hardest part. she could get sex anywhere - that wasn't the problem. the problem was that she was going to miss being with her boys. sex with them wasn' just something to scratch an itch only they could satisfy. it was something intimate, something that proved how much she cared about them. it was hello and goodbye and i love you and everything in between. it was just how she set them apart from everyone else in their lives.
she returned each of david's kisses as they came to her, pressing in tight to his body to leave very little room between the two. she knew she couldn't completely take away the sting of being without his first and by far favorite pet but she could help when it came to lessening the ache. so she responded to his touches and tried to make him forget for a second that he was hurting and fill him instead with what it was like to be back with her. which sounded conceited and she knew she could never make the pain go away so long as he was hurting over someone else. but she also knew she could be a temporary distraction until she allowed his mind to wander back to the two blondes that he had left behind in maine.
"i love you, too, numnuts," she said with a small chuckle pressing her lips back up against his again. "and it's a condo, not a mansion. but since you insist..." she grabbed his hand, entwining their fingers before pulling away to lead him through the small flat, the kitchen that was separated from the living room by just a counter and an island, the bathroom and a spare bedroom she'd insisted on having in her future home just in case david did bring the others when he visited, and then of course her own bedroom which she introduced as the only room he really needed to care about. "and that's pretty much it," she chuckled as she turned to face him, kissing him lightly on the lips again. "home sweet home. i mean it's nothing too fancy but i'm content here."
