The world really was out of place when he and Peter fought and he knew for a fact that everyone around him noticed it as well because it left him in all sorts of a mess. He'd be moody, exhausted and just plain and simply unapproachable in a way. Even his football friends tended to leave him be whenever they noticed he was in one of those moods, not that they always put two and two together about him and Peter fighting, which was perfectly fine by him. "Believe me... The world doesn't feel right to me either when we're fighting" he agreed, god that massage was good, but at the same time fucking painful. It was all he could to not to make small pained noises as the knots were being worked on, but he knew that it was a good thing so he managed to keep his mouth shut and just let her work on his back. She was really one of very few who ever noticed just how tense his muscles tended to be. They were almost always in knots in his back, shoulders and neck.
"Hell yeah, taking a weekend off sounds like the best idea I've heard in a long time, sadly I don't have time to take a weekend off, with the practices I need to do for football, the play, school work. There's no time left over to take off" he said truthfully. "Health problems or not, things need to get done" he said honestly. There was nothing Jason was if not hard working and he always felt so guilty if he didn't try his best at everything. Not that his best was ever good enough for his parents or anything, but he had to try right? Oh god his dad would murder him if he knew he'd joined a play and was playing the second half of a gay couple though. Even the thought had him tense up even more. "Well most of the time I do believe family is for making you feel miserable" he stated, but then winked at her. "There are of course exceptions to every rule" he added as to not make her feel like she was included in that.
"You do realize dad would kill me if he found out about the play right?" he added, a small, sarcastic sort of laugh escaping him, because really, it wasn't a joke, it was fact. As she joined him on the bed again, bringing him a drink, he sat back up enough to drink about half of it in one go, then leaned back down into the same position as before. His hands continued to play with the ring above his head though. "Yeah I know, I'm sorry I haven't been around more often lately." he muttered, regret and guilt obvious enough in his voice. "I'll try to make a point of stopping by more often alright?" he promised, looking over at her with a small smile on his lips. After all he didn't want her to feel ignored, not that he knew hoe the hell he was going to push that into his already massive amount of things to do, but he'd make sure to find a way.
"Well good... because you really can come find me, or even text me whenever you need me around and I'll come here" he said, which was fact, he'd leave mid football practice or blow it off entirely if she needed him. There were only two people in the world he'd do that for and it was Peter and Lydia. The two people in this world that mattered the most to him. After all they'd both been a massive part of his life for as long as he could remember and he'd prefer to keep them both in it. "Damn... it's nice to just lie down for a bit." he confessed, the only bad part of doing so was the fact that it made his mind wander over the last few weeks, the fight, the fact that he'd almost killed himself over it, the play turning out to be what it was, football practices, music work that wasn't finished, and the engagement. Damn things really had been stressful.

lydia loved her cousin, she really did. he was the closest person to her in her family and the girl was quite sure that there wasn't a damn thing that he could do that would ever make her stop talking to him. because, jason was so much greater than anyone in his life -besides herself and peter that was- had ever let him know. and when you just had two people telling you how wonderful you were, it really didn't make things easy. even though if one were to ask lydia she would say that hers and peter's opinion was the only one that really mattered when it came to her dear cousin. no one else knew him like they did. all the sides to him. and lydia knew that no one in the whole world knew her as well as jason did. even if there were something that he didn't know. everyone needed their secrets, though, and lydia was no different.
"just keep breathing," she spoke in a soft tone in regards to him tensing as she was working out his knots. she knew that it hurt, he was always so damn tense, but if he would just let her work on him then he could be in less pain. which was her focus right then. to work out those knots in his back and at least try to make him more comfortable than he had been when he walked into her dorm room. because he was her jason, and she wasn't going to ever like seeing him in pain. nor was she ever going to like seeing him work himself to the bone like he was. it wasn't healthy for anyone to do what he was doing. and though she knew that most college students were running around like chicken's with their head's cut off with little to no sleep, jason had always had a way of just piling his plate so full and then he wouldn't have a clue how to deal with it all.
a deep frown took over her lips at his words and her brow raised before she slipped the back of his head lightly, but enough to get her point across. "don't be a fuckin' moron jason. if you aren't healthy then you aren't going to be of any use to anyone. i swear to god i will go and bitch out your coach and the director of the play to give you a weekend off. and you know that i always get what i want. it's one of the up sides of being a royal bitch." she said giving him a warning look. the woman then let out a sigh and shook her head. "jase if you don't give yourself a break then you're going to collapse or something like that. then you'll be useless," she said in soft tones hands going back to work on his back.
a light chuckle left her and she shook her head taking a drink off of her own bottle. "your dad can suck my dick," she said simply. to say that lydia had a sour taste in her mouth about pretty much the rest of her family was a bit of an understatement. she would love to go the rest of her life without having to see really anyone that she was related to. that was. anyone but jason. who was like the odd man out in their family because he was actually a decent human being and gave a fuck about more than status and appearances. "look, our family is full of shit heads. that's all that there is to it," she stated before shrugging and then smiling at him sweetly. "we're like the only good ones out of the bunch. which is why we are so awesome."
lydia moved so that she was laying beside him and her eyes looked up at the ceiling as she listened to him. "don't stress yourself out about it too much, okay? spring break is soon and we can catch up then. and i think that i'm going to write out a detailed schedule for you to make things easier." she lulled her head over to look at him with a sweet smile. "if i ever need you, you'll be the first to know. promise. now, deep breaths, we're relaxing," she demanded before starting to take deep audible breaths and closing her eyes. .

Relaxing was proving to be more difficult than he'd imagined it would be, because mostly he was thinking about things he should be doing, like running lines and working on his music, but thankfully at least the workouts for the day were done and he wouldn't have to physically drain himself even more later today. Well unless he counted the baseball game he had planned with Peter later, but that wasn't exhausting in a bad way. In fact, even the thought had him smiling a little, which was random because he hadn't been smiling much since he walked into Lydia's room. The smile faded into a frown though as she slapped the back of his head. "Hey! Ow!" he said, making it sound like he actually thought it hurt, only to end in a minor chuckle before the frown was back "Come on Lydia, you know I'm not only working hard because they're forcing me to. I mean you must know by now how guilty I end up feeling if I don't try my best at everything right?" he let out a soft sigh.
She was right of course, he wouldn't do anyone anything good if he ended up collapsing and he'd felt more than a little lightheaded several times during the last practice of the day. It really was only a matter of time before he probably did collapse. Living off of redbull and coffee wasn't really something anyone should be doing. Let alone someone who needed to be as physically active as he did. "I just need to work some more lines and work on that song for class later, then I'll be all caught up and ready for tomorrow" he said thoughtfully. This of course was silly, because he already looked about ready to collapse and it was getting late, but in his mind it needed to get done and there was nothing he could do about it other than to do it. "I swear those lines are harder to memorize than I thought they'd be"
Of course it wasn't just the lines that made it hard to work on the play, it was also the contents and the general theme of the play. Some of the songs he had to practice were absolutely murder to get through. The play's Peter reminded him so much of his own Peter that it was very difficult to do the songs the way they were written without feeling like a complete and utter asshole. Then the end songs were impossible to get through without breaking down all together, mostly because he'd been so close to doing the same thing to his own Peter, leaving him alone to deal with everything. Really it made him feel like a complete jackass, and at the same time, reading through the parts of Jason in the play fit him so much it might as well be him. He'd read through Once Upon a Time earlier that day and it had almost made him unable to breathe it fit so well.
"No you're right, dad's an ass, but as much as I'd like to say it doesn't bug me, it does." he confessed, but she already knew this so it wouldn't be new information. "I work my ass off every day, you'd think it at least deserved some kind of credit." he added, then sighed. "You're right, someone did give us all the awesome in our family. At least they managed to give someone some awesome right? I mean it would have just been tragic if there had been no awesome at all in our bloodline" he added, trying to make light of the situation, even though they both knew that deep down there was no making light of their family situations, that no matter what they both said, their parents did get under their skin and did make them upset more often than not. In Jason's case, his father even scared him, he had no doubt that his father would physically beat him if he found out about the play and if he found out about his sexual preferences, well he didn't even dare think of the state his father would likely leave him in. His playing with the ring intensified as he thought about it.
Slowly he started taking deep breaths the way she was demonstrating, trying to will himself to at least seem like he was relaxed. "Yeah, damn, I can't wait for spring break" he said honestly, because there was nothing he wanted more than a break right then, not just from school, but from everything, just a moment where he could catch his breath. "I do promise I'll make a point of stopping by more often though, but that schedule sounds like a good plan, I never was much use at stuff like that." Organizing had never been his stronger point, he kept things tidy for sure, but things weren't always stored in a logical fashion, despite what seemed like a disorganized storage system though, he generally knew where everything was at a given time. "So what has my favorite cousin been up to since I last stopped by?"
